For QBs: Passing Yards, Passing TDs, Ints, Rush Yards, Rush TDs
For RBs: Rushes, Rushing Yards, Rush TDs, Receptions, Receiving Yards, Receiving TDs
For WRs & TEs: Receptions, Receiving Yards, Receiving TDsBest of Luck and ENJOY!

Honestly, I have NO idea how to project this situation... its a mess. I'm assuming that Pennington is still the front runner for the starting gig, but it sounds like its truly an open competition. I'd have to see a couple of pre-season games before I could feel even remotely comfortable making a projection for the NYJ QBs.

Do any other posters have strong feelings on this situation or any light to shed?

It's like you said, it's a mess that needs to shake out a little.

The entire Jets offense is a mess, and the only skill position player who looks certain to start is Lavernues Coles. It's tough to get any handle on this one.

The question with Pennington is purely one of health, in the sense that if he is able to make the throws, he is certain to start.

Pat Ramsey and Brooks Bollinger are competing for a roster spot. I don't believe that either of them will have a shot at the starting job unless Pennington can't go and Clemens looks lost. Whichever guy wins the roster spot, I don't think he'd start more than 4 games.

Kellen Clemens has looked good so far, according to media reports (he was called the most impressive QB in minicamps). If Pennington is healthy, Clemens sits. If Pennington can't go, I suspect Clemens gets about 10 starts.

Basically, all of the QBs have very limited upsides, given the o-line and skill players, so I'm not sure how much it matters.

I think Pennington starts the first 6 games of the year. Jets go 1-5, 0-6 and they throw Clemens to the wolves.

Again, very difficult to guess. I'd guess Eli's rookie #'s for Clemens & even that might be too optimistic.

Clemens: 1100-5 TD-12 INT (8 starts)

Pennington: 800-4 TD-8 INT (6 starts)

Ramsey: 400-2 TD-5 INT (2 starts)

Do the Jets only throw for 1900/9 as a team, or does the winner of the Ramsey/Bollinger camp battle get the rest?

Left Ramsey off. Revised my post above with Ramsey & start stats.

Jets | Training camp battle at QB emerging

Published Sat Jul 15 1:53:00 a.m. ET 2006

(KFFL) Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports New York Jets QB Chad Pennington remains the favorite to win the starting job entering training camp, but rookie QB Kellen Clemens could emerge as the backup. Despite signing a one-year contract extension, QB Patrick Ramsey has not been guaranteed a roster spot. QB Brooks Bollinger is also in the mix.
