Rounds 3-5 I took Troy Williamson JAX, WR David Clowney NYJ then that sleeper RB Kareem Huggins of TB - CHAMPIONSHIP!"based on preseason action"what round did you draft Troy Williamson a couple years ago?
Didn't say that I was the only one, simply that I've adjusted Julio and the entire Falcons offense up. He looks like the second coming of Andre Johnson to me.The Bengals, Seahawks, 49ers and Vikings offenses are on red alert to be moved down...I'll give them another week or two though.BTW, I don't think anybody is sleeping on Jones. Anyone with one eye can see that he has a good chance of being special.
'Captain Hook said:and the first one at that is ludicrous (and Julio as noted doesn't count in that at all)
I'm with LHUCKS on this one...how can you have that attitude at all and be a FF enthusiast?'Captain Hook said:and the first one at that is ludicrous (and Julio as noted doesn't count in that at all)It's one thing to hear reports out of camp, it's another thing entirely to see it on the field during a game.To each his own.
I have the game set on the DVR...very anxious to see the entire Rams offense under McDaniels.Lance Kendricks. All I can say is wow.
The Vikings haven't even played yet. Does this mean you are moving them down prior to seeing what they do?'LHUCKS said:Didn't say that I was the only one, simply that I've adjusted Julio and the entire Falcons offense up. "red alert" means they are in danger of being moved down...guilty by association. The Vikings haven't even played yet. Does this mean you are moving them down prior to seeing what they do?
I'm bumping down Roddy White out of the top 5 but still in the top 10. FBG projections have him on average at 94 receptions and Julio Jones at 58 (155 total). Jones definitely appears NFL ready and an obvious upgrade to what White had last year on the other side.Assuming the same total receptions (and taking into account Smith surely force-fed the ball to the rookie last night), a split of 80-85 for White and 70-75 for Jones seems more likely if Jones continues to impress.'LHUCKS said:Julio Jones and the entire Falcons offense
I already had Roddy coming back down to earth this year, but you raise a good point. Hmmm...I'm bumping down Roddy White out of the top 5 but still in the top 10. Maybe the Bengals receivers, but Benson looked just fine.'LHUCKS said:Didn't say that I was the only one, simply that I've adjusted Julio and the entire Falcons offense up. Benson looked good, but it's going to be tough for him to score if the offense isn't moving.Maybe the Bengals receivers, but Benson looked just fine.'LHUCKS said:Didn't say that I was the only one, simply that I've adjusted Julio and the entire Falcons offense up. When they ran the ball, the offense moved. How far down can you adjust a RB who is going to get 300+ carries?Benson looked good, but it's going to be tough for him to score if the offense isn't moving.Maybe the Bengals receivers, but Benson looked just fine.'LHUCKS said:Didn't say that I was the only one, simply that I've adjusted Julio and the entire Falcons offense up. I agree to an extent...we'll see if this offense can improve in the coming weeks.I suspect it will. When they ran the ball, the offense moved. How far down can you adjust a RB who is going to get 300+ carries?
This post is right, and wrong...........We should not overreact and draft Hoyer over Brady.....But LHUCKS is right, I saw the game. Julio Jones looked like a man among boys. Enough to where I would likely draft him over Green, since I saw Dalton look like a deer in headlights......LOL @this threadI suggest to draft Brian Hoyer over Brady too

I am betting that there will be more total receptions this year and that a higher percentage of those will be deep balls with a slight uptick in tds as well. I also (as I have erroneously been for a few years now) expect Gonzo to show a decline this year. All that leads me to a slight downtick for Roddy but not as severe as some folks think. I do like the 70-75 for Julio.I'm bumping down Roddy White out of the top 5 but still in the top 10. FBG projections have him on average at 94 receptions and Julio Jones at 58 (155 total). I don't see how Julio having good numbers lowers Roddy's numbers. If anything it just means that the DF's will not be able to double cover White. Think about it. You have to have at least 7 guys in the box to stop Turner. Gonzo is going to draw coverage over the middle too. You have to have a CB on Julio and will also need to keep deep safety help (probably a cover two DF) to prevent Julio from just going over the top, and how many defenders does that leave on White???So yes, Turner, Gonzo, and Julio will all get theirs, however, White should face softer coverage than last year underneath. I think that his TD's might go down to like 6-8, but his receptions might actually go up as well as his yards. I think that the real winner in this case might be Matt Ryan.... And J Rogers, if something were to happen to Turner.I'm bumping down Roddy White out of the top 5 but still in the top 10. FBG projections have him on average at 94 receptions and Julio Jones at 58 (155 total). I feel the same way about rookie RBs responsible for protecting franchise QBs against a blitz.I wouldn't bank on rookie wide receivers with zero OTAs under and an abbreviated training camp.I'm just saying.
So do I but to a lesser degree.I feel the same way about rookie RBs responsible for protecting franchise QBs against a blitz.I wouldn't bank on rookie wide receivers with zero OTAs under and an abbreviated training camp.I'm just saying.
Yep, I posted something similar on my league message board. Julio looked so explosive out there....TO-level athleticism....wicked acceleration. I still don't think he will be a great route-runner anytime soon, but it doesn't matter when Julio is that quick. But LHUCKS is right, I saw the game. Julio Jones looked like a man among boys. feel free to report those that that are pissing in the pool. This could have been a really great thread but man did it get trashed!!!!!![]()

he looked pretty good, I must admitI like what I've seen in Hightower and I'm glad he's out of Arizona.
Uh, from who?Watching Dwayne Harris play.......WOW!!!! If he keeps that up he'll not just past the #3 spot but take over the #2 spot.
Tavaris Jackson down?I don't know that I've ever seen someone try so hard at something yet still be so terrible at it
This. I'm drafting #3. I may be able to snag him in the 3rd if Julio keeps it up.My hope is that the Julio Hype will drop White's ADP some.
Goodness, isn't that the truth? Guys light it up all preseason, while the vets put up nothing numbers. Then week one, it's like those preseason guys never existed. It's still fun trying to find that Colston, thoughAlways get a kick out of the preseason craziness. Everything changes when the games count.
Big AZ homer here and he's improved leaps and bounds since he entered the league. He's much much much quicker. He still tends to want to bounce it outside too much, but he's able to get that corner more now than when he entered the league. He's probably not the long-term answer at RB, but he's a very well rounded RB. Good at everything, great at nothing. (Which is why teams will always want to replace him with a better 1st/2nd down back or a quicker 3rd down back)I like what I've seen in Hightower and I'm glad he's out of Arizona.
Some details would be appreciated. Thanks.Lance Kendricks. All I can say is wow.

Dallas, he's from ECU:ARLINGTON, Texas -- The media horde made its way to the row of lockers around the corner from the Cowboys’ spacious locker room, where the rookies dressed for preseason games.Uh, from who?Watching Dwayne Harris play.......WOW!!!! Good post. A lot of crap spewing in here but the thread idea is good. If you aren't going to use what you are seeing in preseason to help you evaluate anything then you are missing out on a lot of useful information.Whether it's preseason or not, getting to see some of the players in action is a good thing. I don't get why it shouldn't help bump players up and down your pre draft list. Think about AP his first year or Foster last year. If you didn't bump those guys up, you lost out big. Which reminds me, I'd better go find some replays to watch.
I think he meant, "from who is he taking the #2 spot", Austin or Bryant.Dallas, he's from ECU:Uh, from who?Watching Dwayne Harris play.......WOW!!!! If he keeps that up he'll not just past the #3 spot but take over the #2 spot.
that's great, but for the short-term with Dez, Austin and Witten in town, the kid just doesn't have opportunity. If one of them were injured, he could step in and in DEEP leagues he's a worthwhile pick-up. He's one of the guys I plan on keeping on my taxi squad for two years in the hopes that he'll get opportunity as he has the talent. The other deep rookie pick that I liked the potential but question the immediate opportunity is Jeremy Kerley. He's been impressive in camp but if Mason and Plaxico stay on the field, he'll have a hard time finding his way to the field (on offense).Dallas, he's from ECU:ARLINGTON, Texas -- The media horde made its way to the row of lockers around the corner from the Cowboys' spacious locker room, where the rookies dressed for preseason games.Uh, from who?Watching Dwayne Harris play.......WOW!!!! Sixth-round receiver Dwayne Harris drew a big crowd. That tends to happen when a guy catches all five passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns, including one that set up the winning two-point conversion, the first night he gets to wear a star on his helmet.
Cowboys rookie Dwayne Harris caught five balls for 127 yards and two touchdowns in the preseason opener.
"Big-time players make big-time catches in big-time situations," Harris said. "That's what happened."
OK, so it was just a preseason opener. The stakes weren't quite as high as the last NFL game played in this $1.2 billion football palace, but it's still a big-time situation for a kid trying to carve out a role on the Cowboys.
Harris caught all five passes thrown his way, but his performance wasn't flawless. After a route early in the game, coach Jason Garrett pointed out to Harris that he'd have had room to run if he didn't go around the defensive back. Garrett got a chance to offer positive reinforcement after Harris turned a 5-yard hook into a 76-yard touchdown with 12:36 remaining in the fourth quarter.
"See," Garrett told Harris on the sideline, "you kept on running."
On that play, Harris recognized a blitz was coming and ran a hot route. One block from tight end Martin Rucker -- and a bust by the Denver defense -- was all Harris needed to get to the end zone.
"I turned around expecting a hit and nobody was there," said Harris, who excelled at working the middle of the field as Conference USA's MVP at East Carolina. "I just saw green grass and the first thing that came to my mind was, don't get caught from behind. Just keep running."
Quarterback Stephen McGee, who threw both of the touchdowns to Harris, corrected the sixth-rounder's route after McGee was sacked with 21 seconds remaining. Harris responded by getting open on a bend route in the middle of the end zone for a 13-yard touchdown on fourth down the next play.
"He's had a lot on his plate with no OTAs and an offense to learn," said McGee, who completed 14 of 24 passes for 208 yards and three scores. "A lot of young guys' heads are spinning. He stepped up and made plays. I was proud of him."
Harris knows special teams could be his ticket to the active roster as a rookie, but he hopes his preseason debut was a sign of big-time things to come.
