What players do you see out there that seem to be wasting away or just are not being used to their fullest extent?
My early nominees are:
Lee Evans, WR, BUF
This guy has some great talent. But the O-line, QB, and other receivers seem to hold him back. He's had some monster games so far in the past, and looks primed again this year. But Losman, to me, just doesn't seem to quite get it. He WANTS to find Evans deep as often as possible, but he seems indecisive, has little protection, and other reasons for not finding Evans more.
Would he not be better served to move to a better team once his contract is up (whenever that is), and if Buffalo continues to struggle?
Eli Manning, QB, NYG
First off, I am NOT an Eli fan, whatsoever. I think coming into the NFL he was an average QB and would, at best, be an average QB in the NFL. However, he has had a ton of pressure put on him due to his heritage and especially due to where he landed. New York just does not seem like a good fit for a seemingly-quiet guy. Would he not be better served in a less-strenuous town like KC, Atlanta, or maybe Tampa? I just picked those teams out of the blue, I'm sure there are several others I could have selected. I think he could do much better somewhere else.
LaMont Jordan, RB, OAK
I've liked Jordan since he was a rookie. I hated to see him waste away behind Curtis Martin all those years in NYJ, and was happy to see him get the opportunity in Oakland. His first season there was excellent, and proved that he could hack it as an every-game starter. However, due to injuries, and especially due to the horrible team around him, he had a bad year. With the addition of Rhodes, it doesn't look any better. Wouldn't he be better served in a better location?
Braylon Edwards, WR, CLE
Being a Michigan fan, I'm a little biased, but Edwards has serious talent. He does have a bit of an attitude problem, so that doesn't help his situation. But wouldn't Edwards somewhere other than Cleveland be more ideal? Imagine him somewhere like New England or Philly, where there are QBs that are willing to air it up, and not play so conservatively?
Santana Moss, WR, WAS
I've liked Moss since he was a rookie, too. Great talent, but his health has always been an issue. IF he were able to stay healthy, wouldn't another location other than Washington or like Cleveland be better? Other than maybe Portis/Betts, their offense seems to be going nowhere...
