Players You've Dropped Prematurely (1 Viewer)

Last year in one of the most bonehead moves I've ever made, I dropped Marion Barber in week 5. He hadn't done much to that point and I needed a bye

week filler at WR. :lmao: ;) :suds:

Last year I dropped Galloway in desperation when he had a few games with very few points. I was trying to squeak into the last playoff spot but missed. I would have made it had I kept Galloway. :bye:

This year nobody yet. Although I'm glad my trade offer to try and get TO did not happen. I smell a self destruct coming.

Dropped Schaub and Muhsin Muhammed last week. A bit remorseful? Sure. The league can have them, though. I'm ready to move on.

Drafted E. Royal with my last pick in a 12-teamer. Dropped him prior to his huge debut performance on MNF to pick up Pierre Thomas...

:goodposting:

I probably take the cake.

15mins before kickoff, I drop Lav. Coles for Antonio Bryant. Coles was banged up before the game and I didnt want to chance on him missing time during the game.

I lost by 3.5 pts

Dropped Mason week 2 ... to acquire JTO.

Dropped Fred Taylor week 2 ... to acquire Jonathan Stewart.

Both Mason and Taylor have done more after I dropped them than before, but I wouldn't take them back at the expense of the guys I picked up.

I drafted Santana Moss in '03 thinking he was a pretty good sleeper. However, after an ordinary performance in Week 1 (3 recs for 12 yds), I cut him. He then proceeded to find the endzone in 8 out of his next 10 games. I always try and hold on to a player for at least the first month of the season now.http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/5463/g....uLYF?year=2003

Traded R. Moss for Burress. It's only going to hurt is Moss wakes up & Burress gets suspended by the NFL though.

I feel your pain. I chose to sit coles (not drop him) at the last moment in favor of Bryant. Coles would have one it for me.I drafted I. Bruce as my last WR (of 6) and I have a feeling he will continue to produce in San Fran.

Just dropped Sidney Rice and picked up Kevin Walter.

Though I am hoping its not the case; very possible prediction for the "dropped prematurely" category.

For a rare occasion, I haven't done anything boneheaded yet this year.

In only 2 leagues though (10 & 12 teams, both 18 man rosters), I've seen all of these guys get dropped:

A Gonzalez

O Daniels

Z Miller

M Bulger

B Berrian

K Curtis

D McAllister

J Campbell

A Bryant

J Galloway

S Rice

W Dunn

Reg Brown

R Mendenhall (2 wks ago)

I let Matt Jones go before this week b/c I needed a kicker for the bye. He looks like he'll be sticking around awhile.

Bulger got dropped last week by someone else, but my waiver spot isn't high enough to get him.

Drafted Sammy Morris in the 2nd to last round- dropped him prior to week 1 (picked up Derrick Ward)

Picked up and dropped Eddie Royal just prior to week 1 for Reggie Brown :bag:

Dropped Jason Campbell (backup to Romo) prior to week 2 for Leinart

Ive dropped these guys since the start of the year, some for cutdowns other dropped too early.

cutdowns

WARNER

S.MORRIS

MUSHIN

J.CARLSON

Bad waiver cuts:

SPROLES

BREASTON

A BRYANT

In a dynasty league, I drafted my 3rd round pick Trent Edwards halfway through last season.

A few weeks earlier (maybe 2 weeks into the season or so), I finally cut bait on that slouch Roddy White. :bag:

Implying they were all bad moves? ?

I dropped Zach Miller last week for Fassano. They both got goose eggs on me already this year but I like Miami's passing offense over Oakland's so might not be a bad move in long run. It's more like flip a coin. It was more of a block the commish add/drop anyway as he lost Shockey and needed a replacement and Miller is froze for now until this week waivers. Wasn't gonna let him have Fassano as he outbidded me Torain, Bush and Mendenhall last 2 weeks alone and has a 3 year history of takeing all my bids! I HATE BBID LEAGUES!

But this one wins this tread! I dropped LJ after his miserable 2 pts against Oakland after week 2 for M.Bush whom looked to be starting with DMC and Fargas hurting!

I had a chance to win him back the following week but this IDIOT that loves to steal my bids also. (he's not a commish) outbidded me on Rudi so I could only pick 1 between RUDI and LJ! I took Rudi just to teach that IDIOT to stop stealing my bids and let one of worst teams win LJ. (open bid league)

I also dropped Walters last week whom immediatly got snatched up in misfits for Reed whom supposeably had such a great match up. WHAT A STUPID ONE THAT ONE TURNED OUT TO BE!

Hey Steve, if your reading this you should freeze drops until next waiver run like most my good leagues do so when I screw up at least I got a chance to get him back! lol

Dropped Bulger instead of Clemens in a dyno last week, hoping to drop Clemens for Bulger this week. :goodposting:

Bulger - in a two QB league. But I knew this day was likely to come. Had to drop him, M. Bush or F. Jackson (I have Lynch). Didnt want to give up the chance for a decent RB if stars aligned for Bush, and Jackson is key insurance for Lynch, allowing me to trade one of my RBs (have two other good ones in Forte and S Jax).

With three WRs on byes, I had to pick two up to have a starting lineup, and Bulger got dropped. I had hoped nothing would be announced, at at best he was going to miss two weeks (last and the bye this week) and its not as if he had been tearing it up.

Anyhoo, wish I could have held on - that's one of the good things about not having an overly deep bench, forces tough decisions to be made.

J Campbell

I dropped him after week one. I would have only used him for bye week but I like keeping good players on my bench and off of others teams. I also could have traded him had I kept him.

Dropped Desean Jackson before the season started and then this week I picked up Lance Moore off waivers and then dropped him in favor of Hank Baskett...Brilliant

biggest bonehead move by me drafted brandon marshall as a rookie in a keeper league. then cut him to get down to my player limit.man was i stupid  :lmao:

Dropped Meacham after his deactivation Week 1, but just picked him back up. He would have helped me the last three weeks, but I haven't missed him too badly.

Exactly my case. In Week 5 I'm going to start him as my flex option because my opponent will start Brees.

So far for this season, dropped Bruce after week 1.

My worst all time move was years ago in a keeper league. I had major injury and bye week problems at WR and dropped a backup RB that I had been holding onto. The next week, Ricky Waters got hurt and Shaun Alexander emerged as a total stud. That single move probably cost me a couple of championships.

I've got a WW request in tpo drop Meachem for Moore. Dumb move?
IMO Meachem/Moore are kind of a toss-up. In fact, my waiver requests were Meachem 1, Moore 2, and the guy just ahead of me nabbed Moore. The ONLY reason I prefer Meachem is that in our league we get bonuses for longer touchdowns...standard scoring or PPR I'd want Moore for sure.
