Playoff Predictions (1 Viewer)

So winner of tonight gets to face Seattle? I'll be expecting a tank job by both teams tonight. Seattle looking like the hottest team in the league coming in.

Almost a tough call.

Win, get the division and a home game against Seattle. Lose and travel to Washington. I'd take the win.

If GB wins, doesn't that bump Minny down to #6 which would mean a rematch next week?

I think it's...

Min wins: Sea @ Min, GB @ Wsh

GB wins: Sea @ Wsh, Min @ GB

Is this right? Does Minny or GB BOTH have the tiebreaker over Seattle for the 5 seed and trip to washington?

EDT: SEattle has tiebreaker over Minny. GB has tiebreaker over Seattle.

Minny wins tonight:

Seattle @ Minny

GB @ Wash

GB wins tonight:

Seattle @ Wash

Minny @ GB

No it's wrong. If Minny wins, Seattle is going to Minny. If GB wins, Seattle is going to Washington.

Minny would be crazy to want to win this game. Seattle came to Minny and absolutely crushed them. And would again. Minny needs to lose this game and set up an identical rematch next week. If Green Bay is up at the half, Minny should sit their starters and be rested for next weeks rematch.

#3 seed or lower in AFC, Seattle or AZ in NFC
My homerism for Seattle completely messes my judgement up with them. Carolina I think beats AZ if they play.
I think the Hawks have as good a shot as anyone. I could see them losing to AZ but no one else in the NFC or AFC and I think they are the hottest team right now combined with having the experience. I think that Butler INT may well end up being the play that stopped a three-peat. This team is special and Wilson is emerging.

Been a long time since Carson played in a playoff game. He's going to be a bit nervous. I think Cam has the magic this year.

So IMO, you can immediately discount Minny, Houston, Washington, and KC. I just don't buy any of them as SB threats. So from the rest, for my conference rounds I like Seattle>Carolina and Steelers>Broncos. So I have a Seahawks/Steelers SB. I like Seattle.

I hate putting Denver in the conference but my gut is telling me he's gonna pull some stupid comeback a## s### before being unable to keep up with Pittsburgh's offense. Seahawks just look red hot. Carolina O-line is showing some weaknesses and I'm not trusting Arizona if it comes to a rematch against Seattle.

Book it. Seattle 3 straight SB's, 2 wins in 3 years.

Edit to add, I don't even know if my seeding is right.

seahawks got smoked by STL at home?

Don't let a week17 win on the road vs a team with nothing to play for fool you

Your scenario is not possible. If the Steelers beat the Bengals, they will play Denver in the divisional round. Those 2 teams cannot meet in the championship game.

Feels like this year is more wide open than in recent past.

The AFC: I'd probably rank them pretty much chalk - Broncos, NE, then Bengals, KC, Steelers only Texans have no shot.

The NFC: Carolina, Seattle, Cards are well above the rest. Hard to pick out of that group.

arizona had lots to play for in the first half. They could have gotten the #1 overall seed.

If the Chiefs were just a little more potent on offense I'd like them to run the table. Their defense has only allowed 13.5 points per game. They haven't given up more than 22 points in their last 12 games. Had they grabbed the division title, I'd put them in the Super Bowl. Can't do it now though.

The Chiefs need the Steelers to take out the Bengals and Broncos. That would give the Chiefs home field in the AFC championship game.

I'll pick the Broncos.

Panthers obviously in the NFC.

I think (hope?) Manning gets the Bettis/Ray Lewis treatment on his way out. That's how this plays out, fellas.

Cinci 31 Pitt 28
KC 24 Hou 20
Sea 24 Min 9
Was 21 GB 17

Den 24 KC 21
NE 31 Cin 24
Sea 28 Car 27 (should be the super bowl)
Ari 37 Was 24

NE 27 Den 20
Sea 28 Ari 21

Sea 31 NE 27

No, the #1 seed plays the lowest seeded winner, so if 6 wins, they play 6.
Oh righhht, that's my problem, I forgot NFL does the stupid reseeding.
Why is this system stupid? Shouldn't the #1 seed get to play the worst advancing team?
Nah. I'm not a fan of reseeding. Makes it too easy for high seed teams. Why play the games if you're just gifting the top seeds the easiest road to the playoffs? Just put em in the Super Bowl then. On the flip side, makes it too difficult for low seed teams, having to beat the best team left every single week.

Does anyone really think Denver is a Super Bowl threat? No. But they may just be...because the format gifts them the easiest team to feast on each week. That's stupid. On the flip side, a team playing championship football like Seattle may not even get the opportunity because the format is designed to eliminate them.

I've always just liked sticking to the bracket earned in the beginning and let everything play out organically.

Don't think a lower seed is necessarily always easier. If a 6 seed beats a 3, they're probably good/on a roll. There has been MORE 6-seed super bowl champions then 5-seed super bowl champions under this system (since 1990)

Denver gets Pittsburgh in their game if all the favourites win. If they didn't reseed, they'd get KC. I think Denver has a TOUGHER road because of the reseeding.

keeps games competitive later in the season. Really makes the ranking worth something.

They don't reseed.
Yes they do.
No the don't. The seeds don't change. And they don't "rebracket" if you want to call it that. The bracket is not a traditional bracket. There is no hard line to who plays #1.
