TIA.
Why? Most everyone tournament on the planet does not reseed after the first round.I believe it is more common for the #1 seed to face the 4/5.
There is no real answer on who should, except that the #1 seed should face the team proscribed in your rules.
IF your rules are so incomplete as to not stipulate who the #1 seed should face, THEN your rules are pretty toasty.
It'd be hard to imagine that the rules go so far as to clearly stipulate that there will be a set bracket with no re-seeding, yet somehow fail to mention how the bracket should work.
Take the opportunity (broken rules) to impose the best solution: RESEED.
Not reseeding after the first round is pretty illogical.
yes they do. football, hockey and basketball reseedsbaseball cant do either because there is only 2 teams left in each conference after the first roundWhy? Most everyone tournament on the planet does not reseed after the first round.I believe it is more common for the #1 seed to face the 4/5.

Does the NFL reseed? The answer is NO.
Guilty. I commish a MFL FBG league that's in it's third year. The first two years all the playoff action was within each division (as it is in all the other leagues I play in). This year, we opted to go for a league-wide seeding playoff arrangement. In the changeover, I neglected to address the crucial issue of who should face whom in the playoffs. Moron. I guess I assumed that we would use a reseeding arrangement. Unfortunately/fortunately, yours truly was the number one seed. Even though reseeding was my intent, I thought it would look pretty crappy if I set myself up for the "easiest" route when I hadn't clearly stipulated it anywhere. So, instead of using reseeding, I decided to use MFL's automatic playoff setup package for six teams. Lo and behold, MFL's six team package has #1 facing the winner of #3 vs #6. To me, MFL is wrong here. It should be #1 vs the winner of #4 vs #5 and that's how I voted in this poll but, truly, I agree with those that have stated a reseeding preference in this thread and that's what I'll propose for my league next season.I believe it is more common for the #1 seed to face the 4/5.

Basketball does not - neither the NBA or NCAA. But as I said, most every other tournament on the planet does not reseed, i.e. all NCAA tournaments (men's women's basketball, cws, Mens Div 2 football, etc...)yes they do. football, hockey and basketball reseedsbaseball cant do either because there is only 2 teams left in each conference after the first roundncaa tourney is the only one that doesn't (of the sports that i am familiar with)Why? whats the point of the #1 vs #2 seed if half the time you will get a worse matchup
I'm using MFL and the same thing has obviously happened. It's a 16 team league and the top 2 had a bye last week. I'll need to clarify the rules though, thanks for the advice everyone.Guilty. Btw, #6 upset #3 in our league so I ended up facing the lowest seed when all was said and done.
oukurt said:#1 seed plays the lowest remaining seed in most of my leagues. Reseed please.
