Similar situation here. At the last minute a guy couldn't log on through his work computer. I opened a new browser and logged in for him. He gave me his picks over the phone. Worked okay. My computer bogged down several times, but depending on your computer, it may not be a problem. Don't know if it makes a difference, but I used two different browsers (explorer and mozilla). Just make sure to test your system and maximize performance with minimal programs running.
