Please Help Support Asheville. And we'll match you.

Western North Carolina is one of my favorite places in the world and just a couple of hours from where I live in Tennessee. We're doing a small thing here to help and would love if you could join us.

From today, 10/1, through Monday, 10/7, we'll be donating 100% of all sales of @Footballguys Premium Subscriptions to MANNA Food Bank in Asheville. Plus, Footballguys will make a matching donation of up to $5,000. So you get double the impact.

Go to https://footballguys.com/plans, pick the plan you'd like, and buy. 100% of your purchase price will be donated to MANNA Food Bank. And Footballguys will make a matching donation for the first $5,000 in sales.

If you're a current Premium Subscriber, we're not able to add additional years to your current subscription, but you can still help.

Go to the purchase page, pick the plan you'd like, and at the bottom of the plan, click "Gift This Plan" and follow the instructions.

100% of your purchase price for the Gift Subscription will be donated to MANNA Food Bank. And Footballguys will make a matching donation for the first $5,000 in sales.

You can also help by reposting and sharing this. Thank you.
We're all in this together.
Peace and Grace to you.

I got the pleasure of staying at the Marshall House which is situated on a little hill at the top of the center of Marshall, NC on the French Broad River
My 45th BDay, have a video of the train rolling thru town blaring the horn very close to midnight. The little town has a lot of old brick buildings
We have several items from the little general store there, last time we sat in a new brewery that had sprung up there right on the French Broad
Needless to say the town has been devastated and may never be the same, the pictures and videos look horrific
Same thing in another spot we love called Hot Springs, the roads are completely destroyed and so much of it has been hit by mudslides from unforeseen flooding in the mountains

Thanks for jumping in and doing this Joe

-Some of the devastation

My son lives on Black Mountain outside of Asheville. A landslide hit the front of their house and buried his car and most of the garage,
Somehow the debris that came down formed a dam right at their front porch and the inside of the house was not breached.
They managed to get out the back of the house as the landslide was happening and got to a house down the road that is under construction and was not hit.
Long story short they are o.k. as are their two dogs. They are staying with friends right now but will probably try to get out in a day or two and eventually
get here with us in Daytona. They got cell service yesterday and the pictures they sent broke my heart, seeing the area where they live and where we have visited
many times. Water and gas lines are busted all over, the smell of natural gas is eveywhere. My wife and I spent two horrific days not knowing what happened to them
after getting a text message that said "landslide,we gotta run". As I said they are safe.Cars, houses and clothes can be replaced. That's why you have insurance.
Thank you Joe so much for this kind gesture. This hit home in a big way and I appreciate your doing this. Say a prayer for everyone affected by this tragedy and please
do anything you can to help.

Thanks for doing this Joe. I live in Durham, NC and visit western NC often. The widespread level of destruction is painful to see. Happy to donate with you.

Thanks GB. I'm glad they're ok but man I bet that was rough in the time before you heard back. Hang in there.

I spent a week in the Asheville area last fall. Black Mountain, Asheville, Chimney Rock. It was beautiful. Wonderful people.

It's hard to see the devastation and think about the way it was. My heart goes out to those communities and the others affected by Helene.

Thanks to Joe and FBG. I will be donating.
It's so awful. Chimney Rock was completely destroyed.

I used to live in Asheville for a few years, and have several friends there. It's going to take years for them to recover from this. Those buildings were already so old and barely hanging on. The whole town is going to need to be re-built. A lot of the work for people there is through tourism and resturants so a lot of people will not be able to work, and will probably have to move because tourism will likely not be a thing for a long time as many of the roads to even get up to Asheville were destroyed. It's just heart breaking. I can't even imagine what some of the other small towns in surrounding areas of Asehville are going through

Thanks Joe for doing this

Rubi ... I can't imagine how you and the Mrs. dealt with those two days of not hearing from your son. As a father of four adult children, I know that was absolute torture for you. I'm so glad they are safe and making their way to you. God speed.

So glad they're safe. Our son goes to Montreat College up the hill from there and we couldn't reach him for a while either. He was here for Harvey and said this is even worse. Somehow he got his car out and got all the way back here to Texas yesterday. He told us had to drive on half a road that was washed out on one side just to get off campus. It was pretty horrifying seeing the pictures of the road. The pictures and videos of the school and his basketball gym are heartbreaking. It's such a beautiful area with wonderful people. Safe travels and hope they get home to you soon.

Thank you. I was wondering how Montreat and Black Mountain are. I've been to Montreat several times for things.

Wonderful to hear your son is safe. Been to Montreat a few times when visiting our son,it is beautiful,I so hope they can recover from this. Amazing story of his "escape" and journey home.
Heard from our son yesterday, they got their first shower in some time, found water and food and even managed to get the debris cleared from the front of the house thanks to the man who built their house and had heavy equipment on the mountain and showed up with his full crew to help anyone he could. There are angels in our midst. The news gets a little better for them every day but they fear the death toll will rise a lot as rescuers get into these hardest hit areas.

Thank you so much. I only hope many more will have the same good news as we did.

Friends traveling into or as close to Asheville as they can to rescue friends and family members there just trying to evacuate them out of the area
I think it's going to be sometime before anything resembles normal around there
The economy is going to tank pretty hard in Asheville, they live off tourism and people filling up all their hotels to see the breweries, etc,
They don't have the infrastructure in a lot of these places along the French broad River to rebuild quickly, things take months and months to put in motion around there
People are going to be suffering for a long time

Love this effort. I'm trying to purchase but I seem to be stuck in a login loop where it doesn't seem to log me in (or recognize my account?) but then won't let me use my existing email address or username because "An account with this email address already exists". Who/where should I send email for help?

(I sent the same as a reply to today's email then saw this so it's in both now)

Weird. Not sure why that's happening as it seems to be working for everyone else. Please visit www.footballguys.com/help and click "contact support" and let them know and they'll try their best to help. Thanks for being part of this.
