Police want to question Britt about stabbingPolice in New Jersey want to talk to Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt about an incident that resulted in his brother being stabbed Saturday night.Britt dropped off his brother at Jersey City Medical Center early Sunday morning, but was uncooperative with officers when asked what happened, police said.“We are looking to speak to Mr. Britt in reference to the incident,’’ Jersey City Police Capt. Edgar Martinez said on Sunday. “We are currently in the process of trying to do that.”Police believe Britt was at the scene of an altercation leading up to the stabbing.Police declined to give the victim’s name, but said his parents confirmed he was Britt’s brother. The brother also refused to cooperate with police, Martinez said.Britt’s brother was treated for a non-life threatening stab wound to the left side of his back behind his arm.Police were called to birthday party in Jersey City at 3:28 a.m. on the report of a stabbing during a fight involving a large group of people. Police said they found no trouble at the party, however.Police were then informed a 23-year-old man who had been stabbed had walked into Jersey City Medical Center with Britt, who grew up in Bayonne and played at Rutgers. Police said Britt was uncooperative and left the hospital.Later, a gunshot rang out at a home near where the stabbing occurred. Police said the shot was fired just after Britt picked up a friend at the house where the stabbing took place.“They were all involved in an altercation. So they all knew each other and what was going on,’’ Martinez said. “That’s why we want to talk to him. He was involved in the incident, both incidents. He was there during that time period. So we are looking to speak to him.“This is an ongoing investigation, and when the detectives speak to him then we’ll know more. Right now, we have a lot of unanswered questions so we are looking for him to come in and answer some questions for us.”Agent Bill Johnson, who represents Britt, said he was unaware of the incident.Titans coach Mike Munchak could not be reached for comment.

The brother also refused to cooperate with police, Martinez said.
First, Britt is a loser by his own actions and associations. The NFL would be better off without him as he continues to sully the NFL name time-and-time again.Second, the "no snitching" policy that Bitt and his brother are employing is community and culture poison. There's no surpise when certain communities are riddled with far more violent crime when members of that community refuse to cooperate with police. You harvest what you sow.

Maybe he's afraid of retribution by the perp?

Maybe he's afraid of retribution by the perp?I'm sure they are afraid of retribution because the "snitches get stitches" ethic prevailed in those communities. I'm not sure how you put the toothpaste back in the tube after you cede the community ethic to the most unethical.

Maybe he's afraid of retribution by the perp?or he may (rightly or wrongly) incriminate himself. there is no reason to ever talk to the police if you can help it. thats wat lawyers are for. there is simply no upside and you only put yourself at risk for manipulation.

After this latest incident I'm guessing the NFL will be moving on without him.

A spokesman for Kenny Britt says the Titans receiver "has made himself available to cooperate" with police in their investigation of a Saturday night stabbing and shooting in New Jersey.

"Kenny was leaving a dinner cooked by his friends" parents when he found his friend, who had left earlier, injured outside," the spokesman's statement said. "Kenny immediately brought his friend to the hospital and was there with the injured friend's family for several hours, but was not otherwise involved in the incident." Police now concede that the man injured was not Britt's brother. As has been the case with most of the incidents involving Britt, it looks like he will escape serious legal trouble

Never knew you could get in trouble taking someone to the hospital...gotta love these Rotoworld writers!

 New Jersey police captain Edgar Martinez says Kenny Britt is "still not cooperating with police" in regards to a weekend shooting and stabbing, and they are still trying to locate the receiver."At this point he is still not cooperating with police. So whatever statement he puts out is false. We are asking anyone who has info of his whereabouts to contact us, and that includes the owner of the Titans. Anybody who has information on where Kenny Britt can be located, please contact police at 201-547-5460," read a statement released by Martinez. Britt is not considered a suspect at this point, but other than that, there still isn't a lot of information available.

Now everyone knows I like milk and cookies. One night I accidentally mixed lowfat and skim milk in the glass and when I dipped the cookie, my face exploded!Or something like that. Sounds plausible.

Just saw this too. Will he ever learn?
What does he have to learn here?
I assume, not being around with people getting stabbed? Lol, are you for real?Yes. What did he do wrong? Based on what we know, his friend was stabbed and he took him to the hospital. You saying he stabbed him?It is premature to level guilty on Britt, but given his past transgressions and image, he is not helping himself here. Nor, his fantasy value. Maybe he should hire Dez as a chaperon. :lmao:

I assume, not being around with people getting stabbed? Lol, are you for real?Yes. What did he do wrong? Based on what we know, his friend was stabbed and he took him to the hospital. You saying he stabbed him?I don't get the Britt haters - I can't tell you how many times I've been hanging out with my boys and one of them got stabbed. People don't seem to understand just how easy it is to get stabbed these days. It's like you blink your eyes for a second and BAM! there's a knife in your gut.

You saying he stabbed him?If you get hit by lightning once, that's terrible luck. If you get hit three times, maybe you should consider not waving golf clubs at the sky during a thunder storm?Legal process aside, a little bit of horse sense should tell you that anyone who is around this much trouble IS trouble...

Im charging him with the murder of my fantasy season.I am willing to offer time off for good on field behaviour in 2013.

Tennessee Titans receiver Kenny Britt reportedly met with Jersey City police Tuesday regarding an incident last weekend in which he allegedly drove a friend to the hospital after the man had been stabbed at a party."He came in, and that's all I can tell you," Jersey City Police Capt. Edgar Martinez told The (Nashville) Tennessean. "The investigation is still going on." Martinez wouldn't give the newspaper a time frame for the completion of the investigation. "It will be resolved when it is resolved," he told the newspaper. He also wouldn't disclose to the newspaper whether Britt is considered a witness or a suspect in the investigation.Britt's attorney, Robert Lane, told the newspaper, however, that police told him that there was "no chance" the receiver would be arrested. "They told me there was no chance, zero chance," Lane told the newspaper of Britt being arrested. "That's what they told me. It is an investigation and Kenny is not a suspect in it."

No one's ever obligated to speak to the police or an investigator, but he's taking a PR beating on this one...

The Tennessean reported Saturday that Jersey City police are still waiting for Britt to cooperate with them in regard to a shooting and stabbing that took place last month in New Jersey.Britt transported a friend who had been stabbed to a hospital, then eventually spoke to police about the incident after an extended cat-and-mouse game. Now the police want to speak with Britt again after charging a man in connection with the incident. No luck so far."Mr. Britt has ignored our request for a meeting to discuss additional questions the JCPD has pertaining to the investigation,"

I don't think it's in Britt's best interest to talk to the police unless they get a subpoena.

Wonder if this guy is ever going to get it?

July 2012: Britt was arrested and charged with driving under the influence when he was stopped entering Fort Campbell military post in Kentucky. Britt failed a field sobriety test, but refused a Breathalyzer. His court date is undetermined.June 2011: Britt surrendered to Metro police and was released on bond after providing false information on his driver's license application on two different occasions. The charges were eventually dropped.June 2011: Britt was arrested at a New Jersey car wash and charged with tampering with evidence, obstructing a government function and resisting arrest. Police say Britt crushed a cigar containing what officers suspected was marijuana. The charges were downgraded to disorderly persons offenses. Britt eventually pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace and was fined $1,500 in Hoboken Municipal Court.June 2011: A felony charge against Britt in New Jersey was downgraded to careless driving and a $478 fine. This followed an April 12 arrest on charges of eluding police officers, lying to an officer hindering apprehension and obstructing government function after a stop.February 2011: Theft-by-deception charges against Britt in New Jersey were downgraded to misdemeanors. Two bail bonds companies accused Britt of not following through on a pledge in court to pay bail for a friend was who arrested in January 2010. That $12,500 payment was made earlier in 2011.October 2010: Britt was involved in a barroom fight at a Nashville club. One man accused Britt of punching him in the face during the fracas, and said he needed four stitches. After an investigation into the incident, however, Nashville police did not charge Britt.August 2010: Britt received a misdemeanor citation in Nashville for driving on a revoked license. Police said they pulled Britt over because his car's window tinting was too dark.January 2010: New Jersey police suspended Britt's license after an arrest for outstanding traffic warrants. Britt paid $865 and was released.

It's a fair question. Keep this in mind however. Kenny Britt is 24.When Ray Lewis was 25 he was indicted for murder.Pacman Jones was 24 when he famously "made it rain" at a vegas strip club. Of course there was then a disagreement, and shooting. Plenty of examples in the NFL of talented players getting many chances.

Going over this list these are mostly stupid, immature things - not paying tickets on time, driving on suspended license, bar fight, not paying bail money, eluding police, lying on driver's license application, possession of marijuana, and DUI.If he would just hire a driver, have someone pay his bills, stay out of bars, and stop smoking weed he'd be in no trouble at all.I suppose the problem is that he hangs out in a crowd where none of these things are 'cool' and instead like to hang out where there's a possibility of someone getting stabbed or shot out.

Some guys can, some never do. That question will take time to answer. From what I've seen and heard at least in his reactions to these incidents, he's still not "getting it".Best of luck to him. Reminds me of the college player that can't stop smoking weed long enough to pass the drug test at the combine. You don't have to be a genious to have a long NFL career, but there are some rules to staying in the game.
