Politically correct thread, will Vick get signed by anyone? (1 Viewer)

I'll try not to ruffle any feathers with this thread and keep it as vanilla as possible. Is it worth dynasty owners time to trade for Vick, or pick him off the WW in leagues of 24 roster spots or less? Does he have a shot at being a backup for some team in 2009?

no, larger roster spots worth a flier

If it means the Vick threads go away, then by all means pick him up. Same goes for Favre.
Well, Farve I can agree with LOL. As far as Vick goes, I need to get sick of him first. He's been away too long and I need for him to be in the spotlight for awhile before i barf.

Guys, take the snarky comments somewhere else and keep it on topic. If you don't like this fantasy football worthy topic just don't post...

Hey guys, no one hates what he did more than me. I'm playing devils advocate in that I believe everyone deserves a chance at doing what they are trained at. I'm a dog guy, but I'm also a guy who believes most everyone deserves a 2nd chance without exceptions. I'll end my opinion here on the subject.

:no:And to answer the original question. No, I don't think he's worth a roster spot at this point. He's not going to play football this year, so your holding on to a guy for a whole year for what? He's not going to be a starting QB when he comes back. He's not going to be a stud WR either. I don't know what kind of production you would expect out of him. He might be a good role player for a team but not a very consistent fantasy option. Check back in three years.

Yes, he absolutely has a shot to be in the league as a backup in 2009. You want me to pull a number out of the air and guess as to how good that shot is? I say there's a 45% chance he's a backup in the NFL in 2009. But your guess is as good as mine.J

Now that's the kind of answer I'm waiting to hear, whether I agree or not.

There's no way Vick will NOT get picked up by someone. Once he becomes available, there's going to be at LEAST one team -- probably multiple ones -- who are having QB struggles and his athletic talent and previous experience would just be to tempting to resist.

I'm not saying what he did wasn't horrible and horrific. But we all fack up sometimes. He just happened to fack up a LOT worse than most other people do.

People can change. Let's just hope he's truly sorry for what he's done and is ready to get his life turned back around.

But yeah. No way he DOESN'T get signed. No way, no how.
