West is just a guy and if Hunt goes down he will not put up anywhere near the same output.  I would roll with McGuire.  He showed flashes and the Jets seem to like him.  I think he gets more involved as the season goes along and if Powell/Forte miss significant time (which they both seem to do a lot) he could get into RB2 consideration.

I think it depends on your RB2. If you're in trouble there and searching for a fix then getting MGuire to see if he pans out makes sense. If you're set at RB2 and have a solid backup then I'd go West.

This, exactly. Not all handcuffs are capable.

I'd agree with this, though I might also say neither guy and roll with an extra player at another position.
