Team needs according to NFL.com
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2009/tracker#s-fw...m-tab-war-rooms
QB, LB, OL, DL, and WR
Needs Analysis: The Lions hope to have the No. 1 overall pick signed before the draft. That could rule out a quarterback as the top selection, and a tackle might be the direction Detroit goes. The Lions want to get big on defense, so a linebacker in the 240-pound range and a stout tackle will be targets on draft day.
I am also looking for postings that will expand upon the reasons why you think the Lions should take the player you have chosen or if you think they will draft a player, but should pick somebody else - then please feel free to elaborate.
I didn't include an option for trade down, as I feel that isn't a likely scenario for the Lions as the first pick is too much risk for the guaranteed money that is offered and it would be a popular choice given the Lions have so many needs.
I will add a poll for the next pick after enough votes have been compiled.
