Portis or mediocre WR? (1 Viewer)

For those of us in a bind and faced between the choice of crossing fingers with Portis, what seems to be the general consensus for a gameplan?

Players likely available for flex option:

Whitted

Curry

M-Rob

Travis Taylor (maybe)

Eric Parker

Kleinsasser

Randle El (doubtful he's available)

Mewelde Moore

Michael Turner

Justin Fargas

Just listed some guys off the top of my head who may be available for quick pick up and plug in at flex. So, are any of the plays better than Portis? Thoughts in general on switching? Thoughts on a particular player?

Does it vary if you're up or down? For instance, I think if I were down big I'd keep Portis in. I think he'll either play a major role or not at all. Therefore, he's worth the risk because I don't see one of the above players having a huge game or anything more than a token touchdown. But, if I'm down only a few points or the game is close and my opponent has someone mediocre left (i.e. McCardell, Williamson, Wiggins), I think I may switch for Curry, Whitted, or Marcus Robinson because I see both the Vikes and Raiders losing and having to pass a lot at the end, giving these tall lanky players a legitimate shot at a garbage time TD or 40 yard catch or something.

Anybody thinking anything different?

i'd stay away from portis tonight, unless its announced that he is starting...
valid conclusion, but why? How much of a risk do you see him being? Is the risk far to great to take in which case you'd take a flyer on a player listed above?

Mikey, what are you doing in the SP?
I dabble in fantasy from time to all the time. I'm here a lot, just usually lurking for info and posting more in the FFA. However, I thought this question was both practical (given the likelihood lots of people are banking on Portis) and intriguing because it delves into owners' thoughts going in Monday night and how conservative/risky they are. I also wanted to gauge people's thoughts on Curry and Whitted.
