Portis Prayer Circle (1 Viewer)

Does anyone have any stats on the average time for release of MRI results in the Mountain time zone?P.S. Positive thoughts still flowing...

Don't worry, Portis wil be back.In Week 17. :P Bad Vibes for Portis to counteract all this Wishful BS.

Don't claim that they are right, but I just saw this. link is at the bottom

RB Clinton Portis, DEN

Injury Specifics: Sprained Knee / Ankle

Fantasy Status: Portis was helped from the field in the overtime session of Sunday's game against the Browns after injuring his right ankle and knee on the running play prior to the game-winning field goal. The injury occurred when his leg was caught underneath him after being tackled on a 3-yard run. Preliminary X-rays in the locker room were negative but he's schedule to undergo an MRI today. The Broncos have classified the injury as a sprained ankle and sprained knee and while his status for next weekend is unknown, PFS Insiders close to the Broncos organization have been told that Portis could miss a significant amount of time. As soon as the MRI results become available we'll have them for you right here.

The air is thinner in the Mountain time zones, so I'm thinking the MRI results come back an average of 4.25 hours faster than other time zones.

Does anyone feel we are going to get accurate information on the injury today? I don't. Could be wrong though, I have been wrong alot on here this year and guys just wanted to say, I'm sorry. I'm facing Portis in two semis so you can deduct my disposition but I do hope he is alright, I'm the type of fantasy player that wants an opposing team at their best in the playoffs, bring it and with no excuses later down the road.

I do not think we will get the MRI results today, but we will get some quote from Shanahan about the injury. Which could be accurate or not. I hate fantasy football

Perhaps the Invisible Cloud Being was offended by Portis's gold belt and tossed a lightning bolt at his knee.Portis better be careful or next time Jesus might just decide to magically stick him behind San Diego's offensive line and whisper, "Show us your stuff now, tough guy."

Born Again Skank, where can I get a bigger picture of your avatar, reminds me of an owner in our league, no not bubbly yours but an owner alright. Although I do see some ghost of the future in that pic unless I pick-up my workout regimen.

The prayers are working, we got him up to questionable, no ACL or MCL tears, so that means technically 50-50. Keep the prayers, good vibes and well wishes coming and we'll heal that leg licket split!God bless Clinton! Get well soon man!

from KFFL: Mon, 15 Dec 2003 12:39:46 -0800Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan said RB Clinton Portis (knee, ankle) has a sprained knee and a high ankle sprain. Shanahan said he has a chance to play in Week 16. He was quick to point out that Portis does not need surgery. According to ESPNews, it is day-to-day for Portis but he could miss one to two weeks of action due to the injuries.

I was at the game where Edge tore up his knee. The immediate aftermath was very much like this, and the torn ligament wasn't announced until a few weeks later.I'm not making any predictions, just cautioning that you're not out of the woods on this yet . . .

Gee, were you at the game where Edge tore up his ACL? I hadn't heard that mentioned. Edge was an extreme example, I'd gather 97 percent of these things are diagnosed within 48 hours. When all else fails, trust your eyes. Edge's injury LOOKED a lot worse than initally diagnosed, and it ended up being as catastrophic as possible. There has been no really compelling visual evidence that Portis' injury should be anywhere near the magnitude of Edge's(by the way, were you at the game?). The ugliest thing about it was his getting helped off the field and the look on his face. But prayer, good vibes, goodwill and hope go a LONG way to getting people better, and the news is already better than I was expecting, and maybe if all those Portismaniacs out there are geniuenly sending the love his way, we can get that wheel back in gear for Sunday Night. National TV, playoff's on the line potentially, you know he wants in there. It's a question of health right now.COME ON CLINT! WE'RE WITH YOU BROTHER!

Pray all you want, my friend. Mr. Gold Belt ain't gonna play Sunday. Too bad you didn't draft enough depth to cover your ###. And yes, I was at that game. Expect bad news soon . . .

Too bad you didn't draft enough depth to cover your ###.
what kinda stupid comment is that??Its common strategy to trade depth going into the playoffs.... so who says he didnt draft it... and how in the #&!! do you have a "back-up" that is the equivalent of a top 3 pick???:::tryingtorefrainfromderogatorycomments:::

 And if you did have a backup equivalent to Portis then you should have traded him for the best receiver or quarterback.

   for the Portis owners and their thirty-five threads on whether or not he'll play Sunday. Let's hope he does . . . and tears it up, if you know what I mean. ;)

curious man...you sure you have your avatar turned the right way.... looks like you should rotate it 180 degrees.ahhh, probably doesn't make a difference does it?seriously though, I think its funny how people on all sides jump to their own conclusion and fight to prove it as though they have some intuitive supernatural ability just so they can pat themselves on the back if they get it right or just simply dissapear if they are no where close.Unless someone has got some solid proof the jury is still out and like it or not (I don't all that much) have to rely on what is coming out of the Denver organization.

I may be the most unintuitive person (naturally or supernaturally) that I know and am not fighting to prove anything. Read my original comment: I said that I wasn't making any predictions. I merely stated the fact that there is still the possibility of bad news regarding Portis.NY/NJRIMJOBBER is so obsessive and delusional when it comes to Portis that he immediately jumped all over me for saying something he didn't want to hear. Now, you don't really expect me not to have a little fun with someone so thin-skinned, do you?To be honest, I couldn't care less what becomes of Clinton Portis and his gold belt. The playing out of bad karma can be an enjoyable thing to watch, though.

I think those people that have Portis in dynasty leagues were praying the hardest, LOL. I have him in all 3 of my dynasty leagues. In that sense, it's "good" news. An ACL can end a RB's career, ya know. Thank you, God. ;)

I have read every post on every Portis thread, and I haven't seen this, so I posted it.Broncos and footballguys.com hoping Portis can play NFL.com wire reports DENVER (Dec. 15, 2003) -- The Denver Broncos breathed a little easier after tests showed Clinton Portis' right leg injury is not as bad as first thought. Portis had to be helped off the field after bending his leg at an awkward angle in Denver's 23-20 overtime win over Cleveland, but an MRI showed only ankle and knee sprains. Broncos coach Mike Shanahan wasn't sure when Portis would be able to return to practice, and listed him as questionable for the game against Indianapolis. "I feel a lot better today than I did yesterday," Shanahan said. "At least he's questionable and he's got a chance. I was looking at him after the game and I thought he was definitely out and it might have been surgery. So, you feel very fortunate." Portis was injured when Browns defensive tackle Tyrone Rogers rolled into his leg the play before Jason Elam kicked the game-winning 25-yard field goal. The Broncos feared the worst after seeing their star running back limping around after the game, but the mood was much better after he shed the crutches. "He's doing pretty good. He was saying that he feels better than he felt last night," Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe said. "It's a little sore. Basically, when you're young, you heal a lot faster than someone my age. It's a day by day thing." Shanahan had taken some criticism for leaving Portis in the game. Portis ran for 139 yards and two touchdowns, but needed a career-high 38 carries -- the second-most in team history -- to do it. On the winning drive, the Broncos were easily within Elam's range, but kept handing the ball to Portis to get closer or possibly score a touchdown. "In a situation like that, when you're going for the win, I'm thinking more about a possible fumble than somebody getting hurt," Shanahan said. "What you got to do is what you think is right, and obviously we thought that was right at the time. It's just a shame that it happened the way it happened." Portis has been at his best when the Broncos have needed him most, rushing for 692 yards the past four games to help Denver (9-5) gain the edge for the final AFC playoff spot. He had his sixth straight 100-yard game against the Browns and has 1,591 yards this season. Eric Dickerson and Edgerrin James are the only other running backs in league history to run for 1,500 yards in their first two seasons

I understand having fun but you say on the one hand you aren't making predictions yet your post just 2 before the one I quoted here you say "Mr Gold Belt aint gonna play on Sunday". If that isnt a prediction I don't know what is....Anyway... its not like its a big deal what you or anyone else says right now. I already said this kinda thing is going on with guys on both sides of the fence here. I just wish we could have one thread that only contained SERIOUS (meaning non speculation) info concering the injury....and you can have your fun in another making your "non-predictions"

Well you're a big man talkin behind your alias. I outed you on your 2nd and 3rd posts, so I dont' know who you are and don't care. Just interesting that you pop up out of the blue and know enough about me to start bashing me. I guess I'm a celebrity, that rocks man!As for my team and depth, hell, I'm in 4 leagues, playing in the semifinals in one and 3 bowls in the other. My team is hardly a one man gang, but only a damn fool wouldn't want a healthy Portis anchoring their team in the biggest game of the year. I've got depth, but depth is for suckers when you can have your big guns runnin. Don't like Portis, don't like prayer, don't like me, I don't give a damn. All I'm saying it that I am sending my well-wishes out to Denver and will do so until I see "PORTIS-OUT" for this Sunday's game. And were you there when Edge tore up his knee?

This is my first freakin' title game in YEEEEAAAARRRSSSSS!!! So I need him back. Otherwise it's Dom and Tiki in the backfield. Send a side prayer out for Stevie Mac. ;)

Done, even though I face him in another league. In the spirit of good will, humanity and sportsmanship, I hope Air McNair takes the field for you Hawks! Positive thoughts boys, that leg on Clint is getting better by the minute!

My first, too.9 years in the making... :excited:
Man Sonny, I feel your pain.Started in '94. In one league until 1999. Six seasons, no title games.2000, one league. No title games.2001-2002, 3 leagues, no title games.2003, 4 leagues, one title game.Count 'em up and that's 17 leagues and ONE title game! :wall: :wall: :wall: Long time coming, but makes it that much sweeter. GB FBG! Started with them extensively last season and have made the playoffs in 2 leagues this season (would have been 3 but for a stupid mistake). And last season, made the playoffs in 2 of 3, just missing the 3rd so my performance has definitely improved tremendously!

You are right, thank you for setting me back on the straight and narrow....positive vibes....positive vibes....Come on Clinton....

It's been grueling, but I've been thinking about Portis almost non-stop since Sunday evening... with just several brief breaks to ponder Bennett's chances as the just-in-case alternative.

I BELIEVE TOO. CMON CLINT GET BETTER BUDDY. I NEED YOU IN THE SB. It's also my first time getting there after 7 years. Went to the semis last 4 years straight but never managed to breakthrough until this year. Mostly injuries have caused my downfall in the other semis and this year it looks like Portis and Davis will be out, BUT I BELIEVE IN THIS PRAYER CIRCLE. LET'S GO CLINT. I BELIEVE LIL' BUDDY.

Don't worry... Clinton was probably never hurt in the first place. This is likely just Shanahan's most elaborate scheme ever.

Keep on praying gang!

Portis is talking about out performing Edge, things gotta be looking up! Good faith, good will and positive vibes need to keep going out to Clinton and we might get our early Christmas present!
