Standard weekly answer to standard weekly question.
Clinton Portis is near the top of the early season MVP front-runners. NO WAY HE SITS, UNLESS HIS LEG FALLS OFF.
Since watching Portis nearly beat Landry in that race in training camp, I had a feeling he was going to have a monster season. That feeling seems to be right on so far. Clinton has been tearing it up.
On a related note, if his legs DID fall off, what's the story on Betts? Anyone have insights on his time table? Alexander might be worth a flier in deeper leagues as a handcuff especially if Betts is still a couple of weeks off. Any DC homers out there?

I expect that Portis will probably be banged up all season and miss practice after practice, be listed as questionable almost every week, then go out on Sunday and shred defenses, even good defenses such as PIT.
Defensive end Jason Taylor (calf) and cornerback Shawn Springs (calf) will miss Monday's game against Pittsburgh, Coach Jim Zorn said, and he expects running back Clinton Portis (hip, ankle) to play."
That's just a snippet from the article, but Zorn is saying he's good to go...
Poorly phrased question on my part. My comparison was between he and Betts, not he and Portis x pi. I'm guessing I'm not the only Portis owner who carried Betts on their roster and held onto him through his own injuries at least until SA's signing. I agree with all of you here and my guess has been when Betts comes back SA will be relegated to RB3 on the roster or removed altogether. I hope I'm right. Better yet, I hope I never have to find out.
