Possible suspensions (1 Viewer)

LJ is a repeat behavior offender with his off-field actions against women, and Santonio admitted he smoked the ganja the day before being stopped, and has had a couple run-ins with johnny law since being drafted.

So, do you think both guys get 4-game suspensions? One of 'em? Neither? FWIW, my gut says that with Goodell running a tight ship both guys get hit with 4-gamers (that could be appealed down to 1-2, a la Brandon Marshall), but wondering what the Sharks think?

A better question is, is there anyone worth picking up if Holmes does get suspended?
The obvious answer would be Washington, no? The Steelers don't play the Giants every week.On a side note: Is/was Holmes subject to a drug test by the league following his latest issue or are people just talking about a suspension for the act of getting stopped with drugs on his person alone?

Holmes issued a rather cut/paste apology statement today, fwiw:

Statement by Steelers Wide Receiver Santonio Holmes

I would like to apologize to my teammates, the Steelers organization, my family and the fans for my actions that caused me to miss Sunday’s game. I recognize that I made a mistake and understand the significance of my actions, and will not make any excuses for my behavior. I look forward to putting this behind me and to being accepted by my teammates and the fans as part of this team.

At this time, I plan to focus all of my efforts on helping our team win on the field and achieve its ultimate goal, and will not address this situation publicly in the future.
Impact this will have on Goodell=0

Rotoworld: Profootballtalk.com believes Santonio Holmes will get a one-game suspension from the NFL for his recent misdemeanor marijuana arrest. That won't happen until the legal system runs its course. Mike Florio writes taht could happen in short order, but it's up to the local authorities. If its delayed long enough, the suspension won't happen until next season.

Here's a link to a story about LJ...not sure if everyone saw this.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Larry Johnson, already facing possible suspension by the NFL, was charged Monday with simple assault for spitting his drink in a woman's face. Several hours later, the Kansas City Chiefs indicated the two-time Pro Bowl running back would not play for the foreseeable future.
Guess Kolby Smith's value goes up, but I think from the stats on sunday charles looks like the better option if his ankle sprain doesn't keep him out too long.

Just conjecture on my part, but I wonder if LJ's big contract has a clause in it whereby the Chiefs can void the remaining years for reasons of off-the-field conduct. If the Chiefs were building this legal argument, this would perhaps help explain their decision to deactivate him "for the foreseeable future."

So am I the only one with LJ on my roster?

Someone got Torain...thinking about dropping him for Philly D or Fred Jackson.

Never thought I'd say that.

Lol I am so lucky, I packaged him with Ben Leber to get Jamal Lewis and Derrick Johnson (KC linebacker) as soon as the bye week incident came to light. I was one of the unlucky ones that got burned during the whole T.O/McNabb debacle, had them both in a redraft. From then on, I've had no problem cutting bait on iffy situations.
