I'm still a bit confused about Higgins' high ranking and Hill's low ranking doesn't make much sense to me. Higgins is 5-11, 186 and Hill is 6-0, 204, just as fast and better TD target. Neither look to be #1's, but Hill look more like a #2 than Higgins does.

18 Johnnie Lee Higgins WR UTEP 11I still like Higgins' chances for success, but he did not stand out at the combine. His speed and quickness numbers were mostly middle of the pack after looking like the most dynamic guy on the field all year at UTEP. Higgins said he was more relaxed at his pro day last week, and it showed as he ran a 4.30 and 4.34 40. The Chargers are reportedly interested in him, and he would certainly make for an upgrade from Eric Parker in both the receiving and punt return games.
25 Jason Hill WR Washington State 37Hill joined Steve Smith in the "he's not really that fast, is he?" group at the combine. His blistering 4.32 was astounding. I am still somewhat wary of the time because Hill's ability to separate deep seemed to evaporate this year, and was not apparent at the Senior Bowl practices. Maybe his ankle (that he tweaked at the combine) was slowing him all year, but that's not exactly comforting. Whether the 40 time is real or illusory, it might have boosted his stock back into the first day and convinced a team that they can use him to stretch the field. Hill's propensity to catch TDs (32 in 31 games as a WR) enhances his fantasy stock.

I think Higgins played faster than his timed speed and Hill played slower. Hill is the better red zone target, but I see Higgins getting open a lot easier with his quicks, and also being a nice RAC threat. I will say I'm starting warm to Hill now that it seems possible that his subpar 2006 was due more to injuries than necessarily being "exposed". I expect the rankings of these two to continue to close.

Great writeup bloom, I'm having a hard time finding any gripes.

-I like your ranking of both Stanton and Troy Smith; I think we both agree here that Stanton has impressed significantly since pre-senior bowl while Smith has been quite reserved. I'd be interested to see where you ultimately place Trent Edwards, who didn't participate in the Senior Bowl (injury) but showed some great ball-speed and good accuracy at the combine, especially in the gauntlet drills. Hit alot of receivers in stride and threw a few bombs on target. While his college tenure was a mess, he has a ton of upside.

-I'm interested in your quantitative ranking of both Brandon Jackson and Tony Hunt. IMHO, I see these players as possessing similar intangibles but having very different running style, one favoring amore upright, power style and the other a more quick and (as you said) one-cut style. However, given the right system, either could be a great fit and ranking them seemingly is a crap shoot. Just want to know why you rank Jackson 6 slots ahead really.

-WR's are spot on. Don't sleep on Hill however. This guy seems to make a play every time he gets the ball in his hands. Slower in game speed perhaps, but has the hands and athletic ability to make the catch and runs perhaps the most clean routes of any WR in this draft save Calvin Johnson. The statistic you quoted is evidence enough; he's a very dynamic player but better suited as a #2 (as cstu referred to). If it was just an injury that kept him from performing to his prior level during this year, and he seemed to have recovered enough to run a 4.32, then someone is going to get one hell of a steal.

:   :bye: How can you call yourself a rb and run a 4.65? Then he's crazy enough to not even try to run at his pro day. I guess dwayne wright doesn't want to be in the NFL

Wright's agent is correct, he's a between the tackles bruiser, and 4.65 is better than expected on his knee (better than Tyrone Moss - sorry Cecil :lmao: )

I have the ht/wt info over in the rankings, but they aren't all up yet. I should be able to getQB, RB, and WR info filled in today, and will fill in the rest as I go.Thanks for reading and thanks for the feedback.

But that was Jacobs whole deal - that he was very explosive and fast for a DE sized guy.Honestly, the 4.65 only affects Wright's stock positively, because it shows that his knee is not "dead". I think Wright would be a nice 2nd day pick for a Philly, Atlanta, Tennessee...

you're the "expert", bloom but I don't see how this can do anything but affect him negatively. Bush, Hunt, Leonard, Wynn, and Jason Snelling are all rbs that are bigger than wright but they're also faster than him.
