Post Your unpopular opinions (1 Viewer)

Can't believe I didn't think of this one before...

I absolutely love brussels sprouts.

Metallica kind of lost me after the whole Napster douchebaggery. Just seemed like a bunch of hypocrites. They basically died to me after And Justice for All.
Not to sidetrack too much but the argument they made on napster was that they didn't have control of their property. A song that wasn't even released to the public was being downloaded for free. They weren't even making a big deal about their existing music initially. They put their work in and made a song only for it to basically be stolen and given away by someone else before they could show it to the world.I used to be mad as hell at them too but as I got older and understood the argument, I side with them more now.

Lars is still a dooche though.
I don't know anyone in Metallica, and for all I know, they're all complete jerks. But I can't help but notice that the public turned on Metallica because Metallica didn't want their music to be downloaded for free. What, the band should welcome that kind of illegal downloading as a good thing?
It was the way they handled it.
Yep. I'm sure they regret it now, but that hurt them a lot. Their fan base wasn't the type to take that well. Arrogant pricks thought they were above it. Nope!

Metallic sucks. Period. Fin.
Yep. After Master of Puppets they have done nothing I like.
Justice was a good album. But after that they inspire violence in my heart. Never been a bigger group of sellout 180 turncoat mofos in the music industry. That they seem to have no shame about it is all the more disgusting. From Kill'Em All (short for "Kill All The Record Companies") to their napster BS to their completely mainstreamed, almost Nickelback sound - it's a stupendous fall.

The 9/11 hijackers showed tremendous courage and moxie.
I thought this was unpopular, not moronic. Killing thousands of innocent people because you are brainwashed by some idiot religious/political zealotry is the opposite of courageous. Courageous implies a heroic intent, not just being fearless and believing there are 70 virgins waiting for you.

By definition courageous means brave and has nothing to do with heroism. What the hijackers did was incredibly brave. Whether you agree with their cause is not the point. You could take your statement and apply it to our drone strikes and see how it matches up.

Courageous does have some implication that it is both brave and is the right thing. Heroic is a synonym too.

Untrue, in addition, a definition of courage can be following one's heart (Cor is the Latin root for heart) or beliefs despite criticism or danger.
