Now that the fraud that is the New York Jets has been exposed, we can concentrate on who New England will be beating in this year's superbowl.

Let's take a look...

Although the Chargers are probably the second best team in the NFL, there's a chance they could miss out on the playoffs. I'm gonna assume they are in.

Which of the following will not make the playoffs?

AFC

Patriots

Chargers

Ravens

Jets

Jaguars

Chiefs

Steelers

Colts

NFC

Falcons

Packers

Bears

Saints

Giants

Eagles

Rams or Seahags

Personally I'm hoping the giants make the superbowl so we can take back what was stolen from us (hint: David Tyree, 18-1, etc.)

Green Bay is going to beat New England in a few weeks. Not a doubt in my mind. Similar offense, superior defense.

Flawed from the get go. SD is two games behind KC. SD could win out (KC, SF, @CIN, @DEN), but KC would at a minimum need to lose another game (@SD, @STL, TEN, OAK). I would think SD is far from a lock at this point.

The other issue is that OAK holds the tiebreaker against OAK, so the Raiders could also theoretically sneak in, but they have the toughest schedule (@JAX, DEN, IND, @KC). Doubtful, but still in the equation.

sd will win out, kc will lose 3 of 4, and oak will lose 2 of 4.

this is actually pretty true. i didnt talk smack prior to the jets game, and now I need to get it out of my system...
Well you missed the boat. That was the perfect time to talk smack and place turn up roses. The Chargers have an uncanny ability to put whipped cream on horse#### by running off a big number in a row after a weak start. Not this year. Too many injuries after too slow of a start.ETA: If the Jets lose this week, they miss the playoffs. Really hoping they don't let this snowball.

This is the type of year that the Colts sneak into the playoffs and take out New England.

Seriously? There is no way I'm counting the Pats as the AFC SB representative. Too many games to play yet. My choice would be Baltimore. You know, the team that whooped the Pats last year in Foxboro? The last time the Pats lost at home? The Pats regular season unbeaten streak at home is impressive, but come on now, they haven't really strung together a long winning streak at home if you count that loss last year in the playoffs, which I do.

Translation: God I hope the Pats don't make it to the Super Bowl. There's no way my Eagles can win that game if they can somehow manage to get their themselves.

Oh you mean that same Baltimore team the Pats beat already this year? Ya, let's conveniently forget that and dwell on the past. Your opinion seems well thought out and meaningful.

How are they going to stop the Bears this week?
they're not going to stop cutler, they are going to outscore him.please blitz; we like it.
I am hearing this all over the Chicago media as the way to stop Brady but I agree- he will burn the blitz. Have you seen the weather forecast? It is going to be brutal and yes- I know NE plays well in this weather but this one is going to be HORRIBLE conditions for both teams- a prediction of snow, winds at 35 mph, teens and when the sun drops- it is going to get worse. Points are going to be hard to come by so I am looking at intangibles- defense, running games and special teams. This is not going to be a walk in the park for either team 2 blocks from the lake- this is going to be fun to watch- AT HOME!

pro tip: if you cant beat the falcons, you cant be the pats. hth.
Didn't the Patriots lose to the Browns not too long ago? Just sayin'...don't take anything for grantedI'm afraid unless the Packers get their running game together they can't beat the Patriots though and I think that's the key to take them down, even though it is their pass D that's been rated almost comically low this season.

Comically low, yes. But comically effective as well.

I think the Eagles would beat the Pats if they both got there, but I really don't think the Eagles will make it to the SB. And I don't think the Pats will either. So no, I wasn't masking any fears. If not Baltimore, then Pittsburgh or the Colts will represent the AFC.

I didn't conveniently forget the loss Baltimore took at the hands of the Pats this year. I was simply stating that I think Baltimore has a better chance to make the SB than the Pats. I don't care what happened in the regular season. If the Ravens meet the Pats in the playoffs this year, they (the Ravens) will beat them.....again.You know, just because I'm a Philly fan does not mean that I loathe the Patriots. I respect that they have a strong squad this year and have the best record in the league at this point, but that doesn't always translate into a SB appearance and you damn well know it.Any Pats fan that doesn't respect that Baltimore and Pittsburgh have squads that could easily hang with them, and beat them, is going to be sorely disappointed when it happens. At least as an Eagles fan, I know that we do not have the strongest team currently and will have to work real hard to get anywhere in the playoffs. It will not be handed to us. But, Pats fans seem to think it is a foregone conclusion already and that is a recipe for total heartbreak.

I just want to say that the tone of the post (above) is not emblematic of all Patriots fans.

 The Patriot offense is completely different beast than the one the Ravens saw in the playoffs last year, and even from the one they saw earlier this year. They have a lot of flexibility and have remembered how to be creative. Watching that Pats/Jets game reminded me of the Saints/Pats game last year, where the Pats defense was completely frustrated and had no clue what was coming at them next.

It's true. Even if we beat us, we will advance because we beat us earlier when we we played us.

I think we all know the best team doesn't always win, any given Sunday, blah, blah, blah. But, to your point, I happen the think the Pats have a squad that can easily hang with Baltimore and Pittsburgh and beat them... AGAIN. The road to the Super Bowl goes through New England. I think they might have an advantage there. I also know Belichick will not let the Pats look past Baltimore in the playoffs again this year should they happen to meet again, so last years loss has no bearing on this year. If anything, that loss only helps the Pats this year.

LOL...front runners that stay as quiet as a church mouse BEFORE the game, but puff their chest out after a win - a dime a dozen.

The NFL is a funny league, to peg any team as a lock to go to the Super Bowl shows a great deal of naivety.

Should say OAK holds tiebreaker over SD.

Not accurate to generalize here. There are some of us who aren't solely wearing the Patriots goggles.

Pssst... That's how you're supposed to do it. Walk the walk, then talk the talk.
