10T PPR Bestball
6-6 (5th place, 6 playoff spots)
1 QB / 2 RB / 2 WR / 1 TE / 2 FLX / 1 K / 1 DST
+0.1 points for pass completions and rushing attempts

QB:
J.Herbert, J.Love
RB: J.Gibbs, B.Hall, B.RobinsonJR, N.Chubb
WR: T.McLaurin, L.McConkey, D.Moore, J.Waddle, D.Smith
TE: T.Hockenson, C.Otton
K: B.Aubrey
DST: DEN Broncos

Kind of in do-or-die mode now after finally breaking a 4 game loss streak this past week. Barely holding onto a playoff spot and need to secure it the next two weeks.
Any moves you would make from what's available below?
Debating dropping C.Otton (now that M.Evans is back) for either E.Engram (with T.Lawrence likely returning) or for a lottery RB/WR and just putting my faith in Hockenson for my TE slot.

Waiver Wire availability (top 4 avail of each position):
RB: J.Warren, T.Bigsby, T.Benson, G.Edwards
WR: A.Cooper, J.Jeudy, K.Allen, D.Douglas
TE: E.Engram, T.Kraft, H.Henry, W.Dissly

Any thoughts or advice? Any help is appreciated!

Sounds like a plan. Only problem is you’re not gonna play any of them so what’s the point? Your better option is to go all out and trade away your depth for a starter.

I’m still rolling with Otton even with Evens back. It might not lead to more points but it will lead to easier points. Godwin is still gone so Otten will still get his.

Sadly, our trade window closed after this past week. Tried to get some moves going but it was silence from other members of the league.

Also, it's bestball so the highest scoring members of the team slide into the starter slots as the week progresses. So for example if Hockenson played on Sunday and scored 10 points, and Otton played on Monday and scored 11 points, Otton would move into the TE slot & Hockenson would move to a flex or bench spot depending on other player scores. It pays off a bit more to have some boom candidates on the bench because if they go crazy they will shift into your lineup.

I believe it's bestball so he could play them if they have ceiling games. I think there are a couple of these guys that are worth rostering because they could have high ceilings at any given time. Here is who I would pick up based on ceiling potential:
  • Jeudy: with Winston chucking he could easily go off for 2 TD's and 100+ at any time.
  • Engram: With Hock as a nice baseline adding Engram is probably a good combo.
  • I don't think any of the RB's are high ceiling guys at this time.

The big problem is that I have no idea who to drop to get any of these guys. Your WR's are stacked for BB and same with your RB's. They are actually a really well structured unit. I just don't see anybody I would drop. Possible Otton for Engram. Maybe if you are ok with just Hock drop Otton for Jeudy. But I am not sure that actually improves your team.

Ya totally missed the best ball part. My bad. My opinion is still the same. I see no reason to change what is there for the options listed.

Might be able to get a TE flip in there for Otton but I still think he has a nice ceiling.

Sucks the trade deadline is over.

Thanks for both your opinions!
I agree. I think if I drop Otton for a WR, I'll be stuck with too many of one position since I'm already lower on RBs than WRs and in the rare case every one of my WRs goes off, I won't have enough slots for them and my TE might throw up a dud with no replacement available.

Will likely keep the hopeful ceiling of Otton alongside Hockenson and just have faith in the rest of my team since they pulled through for me this week. Engram is tempting but that Jaguars offense is a lot more scattered than TB.

Of course if anyone interesting is dropped for waivers I may need to revisit lol
