Practicing snaps in the shower (1 Viewer)

from SanDiego.com:

Ready for showers

With rain forecast all weekend in Seattle, center Nick Hardwick and quarterback Philip Rivers went into the shower after practice and worked on snapping in a downpour.

Teammates doubled over at the sight of Rivers, dressed only in shorts, taking snaps from Hardwick – fully dressed in his uniform, including cleats and helmet.

They usually dunk a ball in a bucket of water to practice their wet-weather snaps.

“What the heck. We thought it would be fun,” Rivers said. “We got off 15 good ones.”

I guess just dunking the balls doesn't get them lubricated enough, they need a nice hot shower and a bar of soap...if they're doing this to prepare for the game, is it called foreplay?

Update from SanDiego.com:Hardwick doubtful for Seattle game

Center Nick Hardwick was added to Friday's injury report as doubtful for the Chargers' upcoming game at Seattle after slipping in the shower while practicing snapping the ball with quarterback Philip Rivers. The two were simulating game conditions in a downpour when Hardwick's cleats slipped on the tile floor, causing him to fall and injure himself. The team has not commented as to the extent of the injury.

Seriously not a good time to be posting false information like this as a joke without clearly disclosing it as such.

 :banned: :banned: Seriously bad form bro.

Nick Hardwick

ANALYSIS

Positives: … Can handle all snapping chores (shot gun, deep snap, long snap, shower) … Has the wide leg base and balance to hold ground firmly at the point of attack … Shows patience waiting for the defender to make the initial move (in the past, he would overextend and lunge when anticipating the play) …

Negatives: Still learning position technique... Has improved patience, but needs to get off the snap quicker to sustain blocks (lets defenders absorb into him rather than fire off the ball and attack) … Gets a little too narrow in his base working in space...

I know snap exchange is important, but isn't actually throwing the ball when you're the QB more important?

Especially considering now that I think about it, Im pretty sure Rivers hasn't played in a rainy/bad condition game all year.

I think someone said chance of rain is only 10%, not sure on that #, but after his  last week, this doesnt make him any more appealing as a championship week starter
