Pre-Training Camp '06 Predictions (1 Viewer)

Now that training camp is about to start, make your predictions for Standings, Playoffs, and SB Champ. We'll do another one in the Preseason, so this by no means ties you down. It would just be great to see how the FBG collective sees the tree shaking out. If you feel like explaining any seemingly strange picks, that would be good, too.

Note that this is not a "criticize everyone who makes picks and say 'it's too early to make predictions'" thread. If you want to :boxing: , post yours first.

*notes: I don't see anyone but New England over .500 in the AFC East... the Ravens under Boller without injuries are a contending team, and when McNair goes down they won't lose a step... There are so many questions on Jacksonville's offense, and I really like the Texans to hit the 9 win mark this year... The Broncos will be starting Cutler by the end of the season... Redskins will have a top-10 offense with a top-5 defense... Cowboys will implode... Eagles will struggle without Childress... Packers barely lose out to Bears for division... Childress is a terrible HC... Tampa Bay barely edges Carolina for the division, but because of the balance of power in the NFC being the East/South, CAR only manages a six seed... Rams win 10-11 games and beat out SEA.

This makes no sense in my head.
Did it make sense that Pit ran off to the SB as a 6 seed? I just really like the way that Balt team is shaping up with a vet leader on both sides of the ball in McNair/Lewis and heck even Reed. Should be a storng team that martures as the year goes on. I expect Balt to play better and better throughout the season and be a better team come playoff time than their record indicates. I could be worng, but hell it's is all guessing this time of year. :D

Thanks. That's the part that I didn't understand. To expect your number one team to lose its first game off a bye and at home needed a little explanation for me.

I'm far more surprised that I was not jumped on for Indy missing the playoffs than that.... I'm sure it will come soon enough.

I appreciate your picking the Pats to be in this game, but you do know the Patriots record when hosting AFC Championship games, right? :D

I'd be happy if no one picks Indy to do well this year, so I'm not going to jump on anyone who says they'll miss the playoffs. I don't care who anyone picks.

Nice to see the Dolphin lovefest settling down.

Don't have time to do detailed lists like the above, but my SuperBowl XLI pick is:

Patriots 24, Panthers 20

AFC playoff teams:

1. Denver*

2. Indy*

3. New England*

4. Cincinatti*

5. Pittsburgh

6. Jacksonville

(sorry, no new teams)

NFC playoff teams:

1. Carolina*

2. Seattle *

3. Chicago*

4. Dallas*

5. Arizona

6. Washington

Best play: Julius Peppers athletically intercepts Jake Plummer after dropping back in coverage with Javon Walker on a crossing pattern

At least if the Bengals win the Super Bowl, one of their players won't get caught for stealing a Super Bowl ring. Or, should I say, it reduces the chances of said event occuring. After all, it is the Bengals.
