1.) It looks as if Lehman (DET) is still stuck behind Holmes as the starting MLB.

2.) It looks as if Boss Bailey (DET) is finally game ready. He started at SLB.

3.) Trevor Johnson (NYJ) started opposite Shaun Ellis at DE. Has Bryan Thomas not progessed on his surge from late last season??

4.) Why did Kaesviharn (CIN) start over M Williams at FS?? It appears as if Williams did not even play. Injured?? Something else??

5.) Vrabel (NE) and Brown (NE) started at ILB. Is Beisel hurt or 2nd-string?? I'm guessing the latter (...assuming Vrabel's ankle injury for the game is not worse than expected).

6.) Vanden Bosch (TEN) started opposite Odom, while LaBoy saw limited action. I'm surprised Schobel is stuck behind "2-blow knees" Vanden Bosch. When LaBoy gets healthy (if ever), I think we may see a Odom/LaBoy tandem on the ends.

7.) It looks as if Tank Williams (TEN) is still not game ready?? Nickey started at SS last night.

8.) It appears as if Dexter Jackson (TB) is healthy. He started over Allen at FS.

9.) It appears as if Sullivan (NO) still has "junk in his trunk". The former 1st-rounder did not start at DT.

10.) It appears as if Watson (NO) and Bockwoldt (NO) are holding off Fincher and McKinnon for their respective roles.

11.) Even though SEA is starting to warm on Tubbs (SEA), last year's 1st-rounder still has not cracked the starting lineup at DT...yet.

12.) Tatupu (SEA) has surpased Koutouvides (SEA) for the MLB gig. It should be a nice battle over the next few weeks. Tatupu saw limited action, while Koutouvides started.

13.) Tice is true to his word (for once) and started Henderson (MIN) over D Thomas (MIN) at WLB.

14.) Bell (KC) is still not game ready. Ouch. Fox (KC) started in his place.

15.) Maybe...just maybe...Sims (KC) is playing to his potential. He started at DT last night.

16.) How long will D Scott (MIN) hold-off E James (MIN) at the RE position?? My guess...James will be starting no later than Week 3.

17.) Mini-shocker! Coakley (StL) started at WLB, while Tinoisamoa (StL) started at SLB.

18.) Are the Rams be cautious or is Archuleta's (StL) back still hurting?? Atogwe started at FS in Archuleta's place.

19.) It appears as if Groce (StL) is the early favorite to start in place of Butler at CB. Groce should see a lot of action opposite Fisher.

20.) It appears as if Green (CHI) is still holding off Gray (CHI) for the starting FS gig. Keep an eye on this battle.

Madieu Williams and Tatupu are both nursing minor injuries. Nothing to be concerned with from what I've heard. They should both be starters come opening day.

They said during the game Williams was nursing a hammy ...

Thomas started, not Johnson, although Johnson played very well in the second half. Thomas was in there for at least the first two Detroit possessions, there is a mistake in the line score. For instance, they list J Abraham as a sub! A look at the play by play will prove this out.... Thomas started. Um.... what happened to Vrabel?

Um.... what happened to Vrabel?

Mike Vrabel wasn't in the locker room to offer similarly encouraging words. Vrabel, who started at inside linebacker next to Chad Brown, hurt his right ankle when he tripped over a player blocking on a kickoff return in the second quarter.

Vrabel was in noticeable pain on the sideline, where he was worked on by Pats' medical personnel for several minutes before walking off the field under his own power. Later, Bill Belichick chalked the injury up to ``bumps and bruises.''

thanks W.D.sounds like bad news for Lehman owners.I thought he would be on the field starting somewhere.\good to see Vrabel starting at ILB .

Patriots | Vrabel Injury not SeriousSun, 14 Aug 2005 08:41:42 -0700

Michael Felger, of the Boston Herald, reports New England Patriots LB Mike Vrabel's (ankle) left ankle injury is not serious, according to head coach Bill Belichick. Belichick said all Patriots players are in the day-to-day category.

Which player is playing Bruschi's spot? I don't know if it the RILB or LILB, but is it Brown or Vrabel?
