DWill in the third...Stewart in the fifth? Did I listen to the eight-team podcast by mistake?

Just got DWill at 3.5 in the FSWA industry insiders draft. WCOFF scoring/lineups. Stewart went 4.5, so maybe 5th is a stretch, but its hard to take him over other RB2s who are likely to get most of their teams work in the backfield.

Also, the battle for WR2. Don't bury Dwayne Jarrett just yet. He is acting differently compared to years past and he's saying the right things. Keep in mind, he's only 23 years old. If he finally puts it all together, he could still have a productive career. Look for him to hold off Brandon LaFell and be the WR2 come week one.

Yeah, guess i'm confused why you're getting a guy at 3.5 who is projected 11th overall in your latest redraft rankings and just moved up to 13th overall in the lastest ADP list?? Similar confusion with the JStew numbers? What am i missing here? :bs:

just b/c i have them ranked there doesnt that is where they are going in drafts. both have a tendency to be overlooked for hotter names.

Who did you take in the second to avoid your 11th ranked player?

Calvin Johnson, who I have ranked two spots ahead of DeWill in PPR.

Ok, thanks for the extra info. I have the eighth pick this year (non-ppr) and was considering DWill at that spot. Just kind of disturbing to think of taking him at 1.8--while others are grabbing him at 3.5 or later!

Enjoy the podcast very much. Keep up the good work!

I do not understand the early round love for JStew. He simply isn't going to be worth a 4th round pick unless DWill goes down again. I'd rather take Beanie, Best, Barber, Moreno or Brown in addition to Nicks, Bowe or Gates.

It's the top 5 upside he demonstrated last year when DeWill was out + chance he becomes 50/50 share with DeWill + Moore > Delhomme means running game could produce 2 1K rushers.Stewart scored in every single Panthers win last year. If they can become a 10-11 win team, he becomes a 15 TD back.

Fox worries me though. He's unpredictably stupid. His complete inability to understand what "ball control' really means, when he has one of the best run blocking OLs in the NFL to go with 2 of the best RBs in the NFL....I just don't get it. He gets down by a few points, not even a TD, and would completely abandon the run and go ape$$$$ crazy with the pass, and Delhomme would throw pick after pick after pick. Buffalo, Dallas, Miami, jets

Hell, it even happened sometimes when they were winning, and he would abandon the run (New Orleans comes to mind)

What is REALLY scary is that it continued, even once he replaced Delhomme. Against the Patriots, Matt Moore threw the ball 30 flippin' times, DWill had 13 carries. now, mind you, those 13 little carries produced 82 yards, and none of it was off of a real long run, so the Panthers were running very effectively (about 5 YPC that game) but Matt moore gets to throw 30 times in his first game despite the Panthers being within a TD all game up until the 4th quarter

can someone, ANYONE please explain this?

Yes, Stewie looked great the last part of the season. Rightfully so, he's a stud. Lost on Fox, apparently is that EVERY SINGLE TIME either Stewie or DWill had > 20 carries, they produced 100 yards last season

Let's take a look

Dwill:

30 for 152

23 for 158

21 for 149

19 for 92 (oooh, almost!)

13 for 122 (for completion's sake of the 100 yard games)

Stewie:

26 for 120

25 for 109

28 for 206(!!!)

and again for completeness sake:

17 for 110

16 for 125

Stewie and Dwill have ALWAYS been studs. See, I have this issue with Fox being a moron because he kept Dwill under wraps for so long when it was obvious he was the superior RB (EDIT - compared to DeShaun Foster).

Rookie season:

14 touches, 98 yards

22 touches, 138 yards (114 on 20 rushes)

24 touches, 175 yards (74 on 17 carries)

his 175-yard performance was rewarded with 2 straight games of 2 carries apiece.

Next season, he barely gets the ball at all, but when he does he explodes.

10 for 121 rushing performance

17/82 rushing, 46 receiving, 128 yards total

again, he's rewarded with 3 carries TOTAL the next game

he FINALLy gets 20 carries and what does he do? He pops off with 121 yards and 2 TDs

It's like Fox has brain damage or something.

if Bill Cowher ever comes back to coach and he takes over for Fox, as some speculate, I'll be drafting DWill 1st round, JStew late 2nd or early 3rd, without a doubt. :lmao:

Isn't that a little like the cart pushing the horse?
