Anyone have bluetooth headphones with a mic for the phone that they like?

Preferably something you can use at the gym, on bike, etc.

$24 pair I use all day at work for the past 2 years and love: https://smile.amazon.com/Motorola-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset-Microphone/dp/B002BH3I9U?ie=UTF8&sa-no-redirect=1

$130 pair my wife loves: https://smile.amazon.com/Jabra-REVO-Wireless-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B00BFO14W8/ref=sr_1_7?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1475799679&sr=1-7&keywords=jabra+bluetooth+headphones

Both have mics built in to them, both mics are very good.  For the gym, I think the shape I use would be better (top link).

I like this site:

I just ordered this one... it's expected to be delivered today.  I did a lot of researching reviews, etc and it seems to be the best "low priced" option.  I'll update once I've had a chance to use it.

Got these on Friday and have had the chance to use them 3 different times.  Overall, I like them a lot... especially for only $30.

  1. Conference call.  Was able to hear call participants fine.  They indicated that they could hear me OK, but as I was outdoors, they could hear "wind".  Not sure this is different than any other cell phone call outside.
  2. Morning 3 mile walk.  Sound was great.  It did fade out once or twice for a second or so.  Could "hear" the cord rubbing against my neck as I walked, but it was much less than the corded one I was used to.
  3. Workout.  WAY better than using corded.  I was actually able to just set my phone on the counter and communication was fine.
Overall:

  • Sound was every bit as good as the corded skull candy brand I used to use
  • Control module was intuitive and easy to use
  • Noise cancellation not quite as good as my skull candy, but not bad
  • Stayed in ear... never fell out or required adjustment once
After 2+ days, I highly recommend.

These are good.  I did have an issue today... had my phone in my back pocket during my walk at lunch and the bluetooth cut in/out every so often.  Moved my phone to my front jacket pocket and everything was OK.

Could have been interference from the gases.

Do they block out a lot of outside noise?  I feel like I should look at over the ear to block noise from the mower.

These are in-ear, so they are definitely noise canceling.  Not as much as my corded ones are, but they do block out all but very loud noises.

I have tried a few, but always come back to my LG
I have an LG phone, so this sold me.  I guess I figured having devices from same company would be better for Bluetooth.

Very happy with ability to switch from listening to phone. I found the call button by accident, just put my finger where it seemed like it should be, and it was.

Little magnets that hold speakers in place when not in use is the best feature, tho. Didn't realize till I got it that they were there.

You can basically control any electronic device on your phone, as can your wife. It is fantastic, I never even use the remote, interface is great too.
I'm pretty sure that it's also semi compatible with the Amazon Echo.  Using a third party site and that remote, you can tell Alexa to turn on the TV or whatever and it will turn on all of the devices needed and put them on the correct settings.

Finally got one of these Ozark Trail tumblers last week. I set an "email me when they are back in stock at my store" on Walmart.com. Got the email and went and ordered it online and chose Store Pickup. I wanted it for a coffee mug, as I tend to sip throughout the morning. I'd say it lasted about an hour and a half, as I was multitasking at work, and when I finished it, my coffee was almost (I'd say 90%) as hot as when I first poured it in. For $10, you can't beat this deal.

Also picked up the Ozark Trail coozie (had to get from Amazon, as Walmart.com doesn't currently list these, that I could find, though they did have a Thermos one that looks similar) and I must say it works pretty well also. Popped in a bottle of Abita yesterday as I was grilling some burgers in the 95 degree LA heat (heat index well over 100). Let it sit outside as I went back and forth to fetch supplies, etc. and probably nursed it for about 20 minutes. Last few swallows were almost as cold (I'd say 90% also on this one) as when I opened it, and in that heat in a normal coozie, the beer would be room temp about 10 minutes in.
Anyone tried these RTIC coolers?

Does a person really need these?  And what are the magnets I see mentioned (in, for example, Amazon) when I look at these?

I'd roll with husky liners over the weather Tech liners. I have both and hands down the huskies are way better.  First if you live in a cold climate the weather techs surface is slippery when cold.  So your feet slip down them.  They are laser cut but not perfect.  They kind of slip around on the floor.  I bought them new when I bought my car in 09. Because of the hard plastic and the years of use they actually cut my carpet from the top lip of the weather techs.

I purchased husky liners for my truck:  Much softer plastic.  Also forum fit but because they are softer they forum much better to the shape of the floor board, better give.   When cold they are not slippery. The mats also have rubber nipples on the bottom so once in place they stay in place.  Plus because they are softer if you have a spill they are easier to remove from car than the ridged weather techs.

Both are priced about the same but that is the only similarity. Husky liners are a much better product.

I need a fully waterproof non-insulated rain jacket with a hood. It seems that a lot of those "breathable waterproof" jackets aren't actually waterproof. I need something that will keep me completely dry for as long as I need to be in the elements, and that own't lose its waterproofing over time. Any ideas?

You need a jacket with a ePTFE membrane (like GORE-Tex), not something with a waterproof coating (which not only isn't fully waterproof, but also wears off).  You also need sealed seams ideally. I have a Northface with their DryVent coating and it's been fully waterproof for a couple years. Colombia has their "OmniTECH" system they guarantee as waterproof and breathable as well.... but if you need a NoBS waterpoof jacket then ePTFE is the only way to go outside a traditional Rubber rain shell.

You're going to be wise to spend a little money here and go with a reputable brand (Colombia, North Face, Patagonia) or at least one that is well rated and utilizes a quality membrane. Do not go on amazon and get the No-Name SUPER WATERPROOF JACKET - EXTRA WATERPROOFING - BEST #1 RATED ON AMAZON for $39.95 and expect it to work. It may for a week. Sorta.

I use the plastic ones and after a while they start to loose their stiffness.  So, yes???

I don't like the magnets.

I have both and love them. The collar stays keep the collar points looking great, keep them from curling, and keep the collar from flopping around. The magnets go inside the shirt and keep the collar "pinned" in place.

Only WeatherTech Digital Fit for my vehicles. Love them. I live in MN. Not sure what you mean by them moving around since there are little holes where they lock down in the carpet on newer vehicles.

They don't lockdown on my hondas tabs. I live in MN too and think that when it gets cold the surface becomes slippery especially with a bit of snow thrown in the mix. Plus they cut my carpet. Husky all the  way. Plus on my Honda Fit they bow in a bit by the running boards allowing snow to get between the mat and the running board.

The WeatherTech's lock down and fit perfectly on my 2016 Honda and 2016 Hyundai.

Few things I strongly suggest to ask Santa for:

UE MEGABOOM Bluetooth Speaker $$$$$ - Absolutely love this speaker. Fantastic sound, long battery life and extremely easy connectivity

Mpow Buckler Portable Wireless Bluetooth Shower Speaker $ - We travel with this one. Good enough sound from palmed size waterproof speaker

Bose QuietComfort 35 Wireless Headphones $$$$$ - Worth every penny. I scoffed at these due to the price until I actually tried them.

Amazon Premium Headphones $ - Nice compact headphones that I keep in the briefcase I listed below. Love the magnet feature and I have had zero complaints from people being able to hear me

Hydro Flask Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Food Flask $$ - Smallish design that keeps my lunch HOT from 5:30 am till around 1pm.

Droll Yankees Whipper 4-Port Hanging Bird Feeder $$ - I have had a couple of the Droll bird feeders over the years and this one is by far my favorite due to the collapsing perches instead of the plastic disc.

Panasonic Eneloop Rechargeable Battery Power Pack $ - Easily the best battery charging setup I have ever used.

Kattee Men's Leather Durable Briefcase/Laptop Bag $$$

I really don't like my biosafe.  It takes too long to open and often requires more than one attempt to open it.  I would recommend something like this.

Check out mamoet.  I have one and love it.
