NFL | Fast facts: Proehl, Jurevicius share Super bond

Tue, 30 Jan 2007 06:24:21 -0800

Indianapolis Colts WR Ricky Proehl (hamstring) is expected to play in Super Bowl XLI Sunday, Feb. 4, despite a hamstring injury, and if Proehl is available, he will join Cleveland Browns WR Joe Jurevicius as two players who have appeared in seven (including this year) of the last eight Super Bowls. What makes their bond so unique is that both players have represented three different teams during that span.

Imagine that, two journeyman WRs playing in that many SBs. If I'm a GM, I might just consider signing one of them (or maybe both!) for good luck next year. Just for fun...who can name the SB teams Jurevicious and Proehl played for (without looking at career stats)?

Proehl has had a very quiet, very impressive career:

Among the league's all-time top 50

Receptions: 31st

Receiving yards: 43rd

Colts fans better hope Proehl doesn't score the final TD of the game for the Colts because remember what happened in 2001 and 2003....oh wait that guy plays for the Colts now too.
