RAIDERS SHOPPING FARGAS, BUSH

Posted by Mike Florio on October 12, 2008, 12:59 p.m. EDT

Charley Casserly of CBS reports that the Oakland Raiders are willing to trade either Justin Fargas or Michael Bush.

With Darren McFadden proving to be a legitimate NFL player, the Raiders don’t need three tailbacks.

Casserly says that Bush is the more likely to be moved.

Bush and Fargas are both under contract through 2010. Fargas has higher base salaries, given that he has been in the league for more years. Bush is in his second season. He was considered to have first-round talent until he suffered a broken leg in the first game of his senior season at Louisville.

Who are the would be buyers?

Cincy, Cleveland, Seattle, Arizona, Philly? No obvious choices here. Jets maybe.

It depends on their asking price, He would be a good heir apparent to Lewis in Cleveland, but I'd doubt they would give up more than a 4th rounder for him.

This Mike Florio know what he is talking about? Who is he?

Seems like a lot of injury in Oak to make a trade right now.

It would make no sense for Oakland to trade him for a fourth. They drafted him in the fourth when no one knew how he would recover. He has fully recovered and has no proven that he can play in the NFL. Isn't his value now worth more than when he was drafted? I would say a second or at least a third round pick, minimum.

RBs don't command high NFL trade value, especially one with an injury history and no production history. If they get a 4th round offer, they should take it.

All we know is that he was worth a fourth round pick to Oakland. We have no idea what value any other team had placed upon him.

From the time he was drafted (and with the injury he had then) we know it was no higher than a fourth

Cincy sort of makes sense.

Indy?

Too bad Denver won't deal with Oakland (and vice versa)

Tampa Bay?

Seattle?

I don't see the market being much for either, but a few teams could use a back.

PFT said the Skins were interested in Alexander, since Betts is banged up. i am sure they would be interested in these guys as well.

The only really good news out of Oakland would be if they are shopping Al Davis.

But they wouldn't get a 7th rounder for him.
