Project or Die - Master Thread (1 Viewer)

Notorious T.R.E.

This thread is to suggest new players to project and for the collection of results/prior players.

Back by popular demand is the Project-Or-Die series of forum projections. I'll propose a player every day or two and yu project statistics in the major categories as follows:

Bats: AVG, OBP, HR, RBI, R, SB

Arms: IP, ERA, WHIP, W, Saves, Strikeouts

Projections:

Yu Darvish, SP

Mike Stanton, OF

Jesus Montero, C/DH

Alex Gordon, OF

I realize we already have had one Ranger SP, but the one I am more curious about is what people will think about Neftali Feliz's move to the starting rotation will bring. Does he fall into the Project or Die rules?

The first rule is there are no rules. I'll put him on the list, but he won't be next.

I think hitters are a lot more projectible than pitchers.

How about some dead cat bounce candidates:

Adam Done

Carl Crawford

Vernon Wells

:goodposting: Crawford was one I was thinking of doing because I think there's some value there in redrafts.
I've read more than one opinion stating Carl will start the year on the DL. Tough to project even if he isn't on the DL. Wrist injuries are bad.I'd like see Mike Stanton projections. Crazy Bill James is only projecting 39 HR's......pansy.

Ugh, I had a whole post written before I read this. Back to the drawing board. In honor of you saving us a waste of time I'll do Stanton next.

Couple of thoughts on the final projections.

I was thinking after a certain amount of time, or number of projections I would show the high, low and average for the player. Thoughts on how to do this? 2 days or at least 10 projections? Something like that?

I could also provide some other projections like Bill James, Rotowire, ESPN or others if people think that would be useful.

Mostly this is about making fun of crappy projections (like my Nishioka proj from last year), but we might as well be somewhat useful as well.
