Pure Football Question --->>>> If Jerome Harrison is SOOOOO Good.....

.........that he nearly breaks THE NFL RUSHING RECORD after just a handful of starts (was this his 2nd or 3rd or 4th start this year?) (did he even start?) how in the HECK does Mangini keep him on the bench for so long behind broken down and retiring Jamal Lewis????????

I don't care if it was against KC's lousy defense. Mangini should be fired for that reason alone.

that's funny because last week i remember people saying that Jennings was the real deal and Harrison just a 3rd down back

Not sure if should be fired, but definitely evaluated. Plenty of Browns fans saw Harrison's talent sitting on the bench for years. I think this speaks more about the egos that are present at the upper echelon of organizations and how they "need" their guys.

:goodposting: If the guy was drafted in the 1st round, he would have been seeing tons more playing time much earlier in his career.

Ummm, not hating on Harrison or defending Mangini but you should because that a boatload to do with it.

I would agree with discounting a merely good performance against a weak run D (say, 150-175 yards); but we're talking a historic 286 yard output (with 3 scores), the third best rushing performance ever.Crennel and Mangini should never be hired by anyone again.

Not disagreeing about the incompetence of Crennel or Mangini and I do like Harrison. Drafted him over Marshall in a dynasty rookie draft :bag: but to say it doesn't matter that he was playing the sieve that passes as a defense for KC is just silly.

Okay, I mentioned this. And I'm hearing this point.Question: a mid-season Jamal Lewis puts up how many yards, how many TD's today?

Rushing yards vs. Kansas City Chiefs 2009Ray Rice 108 yards

Brandon Jacobs 92 yards

Clinton Portis 109 yards

L Tomlinson 71 yards game 1, 39 yards game 2

M. Jones-Drew 97 yards

Michael Bush 35 yards in game 1, 119 yards game 2

Mendenhall 80 yards

Buckhalter 113 yards

Fred Jackson 99 yards

Jerome Harrison 286 yards

Is KC likely to give up some rushing yards? Of course

Does that mean they are likely to give up 286? No chance

Again, not hating on Harrison. He had a great game.

He is probably the best RB on the roster.

Mangini is incompetent.

I think we agree on most things here just point out that this outlier of a performance has a lot to do with KC as well as Harrison.

Hey look, another Mangini bashing thread.
I'm not sure you can blame the mess of this season fully on Mangini. I'm on the fence with him, but I'm thinking you need to give him another season. I feel like he's made some questionable personnel decisions this year, but I'm willing to give him another season (not that my opinion matters).

I know I'm in the minority but I like what he is doing. Anybody that thought this team was going to be good this year was dreaming. He has kept them playing hard and brought in some nice players to complement the system while getting rid of dead weight and getting something in return.

I can't argue with that. The true test will be seeing what he does this coming off season. They should have a lot of money to spend and a lot of draft picks. Winning some games late should make it much more possible to land a/some decent free agents in the off season.
