and he got savaged for saying it but he's right

when i was growing up the way people would say it was "he's a cool guy, he's not a n******. there's a difference, you know. there are n****** and there are 'brothers'. that guy is one of the brothers"

can't say it that way anymore. so instead people say "thug" or "he's well spoken" to indicate dangerous vs. safe.

OJ was "well spoken".  he cut two people's heads off.
Ice-T was a thug but now he makes corny jokes on SVU.

when i used to hear people say that your idols would one day let you down.. i didn't think it would happen to Ice-T. in '88 i was pretty sure he was the coolest mother####er on the planet.

now..... my god..... my mom thinks he's just neat

WHY, GOD??? WHY???????????????????????

Facebook all in a rage over kaepernick's socks at practice yesterday.  they had fat pigs dressed as cops.   this guy just needs some attention

The NA protest was his right and I have no issue with that.  Now that he is wearing the anti-police socks knowing dam well it would get coverage it is making this all about him and now becoming a distraction and taking away from the game.  CKs fiancé is a BLM activist so all signs point to her pulling his strings.  Just hope the guy is not blowing his career for his girlfriends agenda.

From a career standpoint, I think he's made a disastrous miscalculation.  Looking out at the backup QB horizon, he could have played another 10 years carrying a clipboard.

He doesn't have enough talent to be a headache.

Gabbert drops back ...*scans field and sees socks*.....oh no he's been sacked for a 7 yard loss!

Ok jacka$$.

As per FBG SOP, I did not read a single article, post in this thread, nor listen to or watch anything in the news related to this guy. I came in cold, and lent a spot on analysis of the situation.

That said, people like you are the reason this place hemmorages members. If there was any standards in modding here, you would be banned. But there's not, so carry on with your keyboard warrior shtick, Chachi.

Is that what these hens are cackling about?  That there was a similar point brought up on page 12 of a 23 page thread that was similar to ours?

Good grief.  A simple Honda reference used to suffice.

Really dont know what happened to @roadkill1292 . Everything he posts now is negative, pure venom.

Funny how some of those anonymous sources were talking about his whole team hating him, everyone here that hates him lapping it up and then see a teammate, as well as a Seahawks player, join him during their respective game's anthems.

Oh Say Take A Seat......

And that piece also has a teammate (TE: Vance McDonald) suggesting that Kaep's actions have helped bring the team together.

He's the worst... no one would touch him.

:lmao:  Vance McDonald.  Of course he is happy for Kaepernick.  Kaepernick's greatness at being a locker room cancer was a huge reason why Vernon Davis was traded.

HFS.  You used a Mike Singletary video as a serious response.  Try again.   :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
That happened during a season where he took over a ####ty Nolan coached team and led them to a 5-4 record as intern head coach. I'd bet dollars to donuts you were slurping that Samurai Mike juice during the following offseason. So yes, that was a serious response because your boy VD was quite the locker room cancer back then and matured from that point.

You really have no clue what you are talking about.  It's no wonder you support Kaepernick lol.

How could I possibly have no idea what I'm talking about?

Was Singletary the interim after Nolan was fired midseason? yes

Was Singletary 5-4 that year? yes

During the interim season, did Singletary make an example of a me-first player, locker room problem player, on and off the field, and turn him into a more mature, better player? yes

Unless my speculation of you being a 49ers fan is off, there's simply nothing there that's incorrect. And I'm going to like my chances of the guy with the SF logo for his avatar being a 49ers fan.

Today something VERY special happened that won't get told unless you share this.

Colin Kaepernick had a private meeting with Nate Boyer - the Army Green Beret and former standout football player. They both respect each other a great deal.

Colin invited Nate down to the game in San Diego so they could have an open dialogue about America, injustice, the military, the Star Spangled Banner, and so much more. They met for a good 90 minutes and talked about what a compromise would look like for Colin.

This is where Colin agreed to take a knee during the National Anthem. Colin has always loved and respected the men and women who serve.

Nate said, "We talked about change a lot and how to get positive change to happen. We talked about issues that are taking place in this country and how to prompt change but I also reminded Colin of the great freedoms and luxuries we have in America."

Tonight, Nate stood with Colin and the 49ers as their special guests before the game.

HOnestly have a bigger problem with the socks than I do him sitting.

You can't force patriotism., To do so would be far worse than what Kaep is doing, even if I/we don't agree with his argument.

I don't really care. If there was evidence to support what he's saying I might agree with him but since the evidence that IS out there shows he's wrong, I'll just ignore his antics.

If I hated or despised him, that would be as much my right as it is his to protest in the way he is. If he doesn't care who he offends with his protests then he shouldn't get all butt hurt when people protest about him.

Link?

Doussssshhhh. I have a little issue with sitting during the anthem, but more of a problem with the socks.

Am I the only person surprised that this story has gotten so much attention?  It's basically "Mediocre Backup Declines to Participate in Empty Social Convention."  But it's on the front page of CNN.

The attention is being fueled by irate uber-patriots and their equally perplexed nonconformist counterparts.  For once the media is just following along rather than instigating.

Wonder if a player like Brady, Manning or Favre were to sit during the National Anthem if society would look at them the same way?

Uber patriots are a pretty entertaining lot, but throw a n##### not doing as he's supposed to in there and it gets downright Shakespearean.

Of course this is a nothing story ... but our nation's two greatest sources of asinine hot-takery are sports and racial politics, and this is a perfect storm. Aging white columnists at mid-sized newspapers across the country probably creamed their pleated khakis when they first heard about it.

I think it's a real story that's moving the conversation in a promising direction.  I watched his whole presser late last night and I was proud of the guy

Some NFL players seem ready to take on this issue, that's good.  The socks were dumb, no question about that.. but it takes some guts and the right kind of attitude to do what he's doing now
