"I don't see all the atrocities going on in this country that people say are going on." - Mike Ditka
Well. There goes that.
In a photo provided by former NFL player Kirk Morrison, Colin Kaepernick took a knee, while players from Castlemont High School in Oakland, CA laid on their backs, with their hands up.
It still shows how ####ty his attitude is about it in general. Wearing socks wear pigs are cops is something a 10-year old would do.squistion said:The socks were worn in practice, not at a game.
Eh, not really. You are acting like both Clevenger and Kaepernick work for the same employer; they do not.Mr. Know-It-All said:I agree that Clevenger should have been reprimanded - just as Kaepernick should have been. By punishing one and not the other, you are essentially admitting one is not being disciplined because of the color of his skin or the content of his message. If it is the former, then it is unequal treatment which is what Kaepernick is protesting; if it is the latter then freedom of speech is dependent on the content of the message beyond not yelling fire in a crowded movie theater.
49ers could have disciplined Kaep for his actions, but chose not to. They can do that, they're a private employer. The Mariners disciplined Clevenger for his actions. They can do that, they're a private employer. Why should different teams in different leagues be required to handle different incidents in the same way?Mr. Know-It-All said:I agree that Clevenger should have been reprimanded - just as Kaepernick should have been. Of course whether an employer disciplines an employee for saying offensive stuff will depend on what the employee actually says. That should not be surprising, and has nothing to do with "freedom of speech" as that phrase is typically used (i.e., to implicate First Amendment considerations).Mr. Know-It-All said:I agree that Clevenger should have been reprimanded - just as Kaepernick should have been. Could they really? This thing would look organized and peaceful compared to the backlash SF would have gotten had they disciplined Kaepernick for his actions.49ers could have disciplined Kaep for his actions, but chose not to. I'm sorry, no one had cut the eye holes in my sheet for me to see it.You guys see that AMAZING moment of unity before the Saints/Falcons game?
You posted about it so it did something. This is just getting stupid. The Saints/Falcons stood in a big circle and held hands. Really getting things done.
It doesn't bother me, it just does nothing![]()
Obviously you care because you were the one who brought up the shirt and socks (see bolded below). So, you don't think these things are irrelevant and you do care about them. I was simply responding to points that you raised, which you now say are irrelevant.
I love it.I did not bring up the t-shirt and socks, you did. And those things are irrelevant to the discussion of his kneeling during the anthem. His wearing of the t-shirt while talking to the press is also irrelevant to the high school students, who, per court decisions, are subject to dress codes dictated by school authorities and in that case were trying to provoke a violence between races. You support CK. Then you support some kids getting sent home for wearing a tshirt that was just trying to provoke other kids. I point out (in a sarcastic manner) that kaepernick also wore an offensive shirt and offensive socks so that makes you a hypocrite.
You then pointed out that these things happened in practice not at a game. I point out that nobody said otherwise and that such a point is irrelevant and that nobody cares. You now point to my original post as to why you felt the need to point out that these things happened at practice and not a game. Whether it was practice or a game is irrelevant so I have no idea why the heck you brought it up and keep bringing it up.
I thought thas was for 10 years after KatrinaYou guys see that AMAZING moment of unity before the Saints/Falcons game?
Ditka Butkus' Girlfriend?Colin Kaepernick finally admitted that his loss of weight has become an issue.
The 49ers haven't said how much Kaepernick weighs, but they admits he's not at his listed 225 pounds. And probably isn't close to it. Kap became a vegan last season, and his weight noticeably started to tumble. He has a plan to gain it back: "Eat food. And a lot of it." His fragile build is likely contributing to coach Chip Kelly not putting Kaepernick on the field. "To get the full Kap for what you need -- the potential that he has," Kelly said, "he needs to continue to just work on the physical aspect of things." Kelly has long been big on physical stature.
Along with the sitting for the National Anthem ...it is my opinion that Kaepernick has been influenced by his girlfriend and as per usual with us men, he is following the direction of the wrong head.
It's cute that you're trying to reason with squistion. I wish you luck in your continued endeavors.parasaurolophus said:I love it.

Yes .. they were all standing I think.......perfect!...You guys see that AMAZING moment of unity before the Saints/Falcons game?
You are quite the Ditk...Haven't I already told you what you can go do with yourself.....
In fairness, his initial point wasn't very reasonable itself. Seems like a fair fight. It's cute that you're trying to reason with squistion. I wish you luck in your continued endeavors.
Not that I remember. What was it?You are quite the Ditk...Haven't I already told you what you can go do with yourself.....
He said all positions are open for evaluation. He also said Gabbert has been better than Kaep in practice and that's why he's starting.Tim KawakamiVerified account @timkawakami 2m2 minutes ago
For the first time since the season started, Chip Kelly left the door wide open for a possible change to Colin Kaepernick next game.
So bad he took his team to a Super Bowl.Actually excited for him to get on the field and remind us how bad he is. I've watched basically every game he has ever played, I know what is coming - but some of you new Kaep fans rooting for him, I'm excited for that.
I actually predict he plays very well in his first game, possibly in the 2nd game, then implodes no later than game 3, it'll be really fun to watch.
Still hoping for the number one pick and some Watson action (although my love for him is fading a little)... Thinking my boys Gabbert, Kaep, & Ponder can lead us there.
His contract is guaranteed against injury, it's the only guarantee in there. The great thing about Kaepernick is he increases his chance of tearing his ACL and being bankrupt by the end of 2018.
well ####. That's sad.His contract is guaranteed against injury, it's the only guarantee in there.
Honestly, prob one of the reasons he's not on the field.
Pregame there were reports online from observers that Kaep connected twice with Torry Smith on about a 50 yard pass. If you think Gabbert can do that I got some ocean front property in Arizona I would like to sell you.He said all positions are open for evaluation. He also said Gabbert has been better than Kaep in practice and that's why he's starting.
Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl. He's great right? 76.6 QBR, let go the following year. But Kaepernick didn't even win, hmmmm. So bad he took his team to a Super Bowl.
Yes, Kaep was only a game manager just like Dilfer and relied on the defense to carry the 49ers through the season. That was the only reason Harbaugh liked him and why they made it to the Super Bowl.Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl. He's great right? 76.6 QBR, let go the following year. Because NFL Championships are all about the QB
He was good enough.Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl. He's great right? 76.6 QBR, let go the following year.
Neil O'Donnell agrees with you.He was good enough.Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl. He's great right? 76.6 QBR, let go the following year. But Kaepernick didn't even win, hmmmm.
They couldn't get anything for Kaep in a trade. Cleveland opted for RG3/McCown & Denver decided Semian/Paxton Lynch (or whoever they could grab at the end of the first were better options). But Elway prob can't evaluate QB talent.Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl. He's great right? 76.6 QBR, let go the following year. But Kaepernick didn't even win, hmmmm.
Doug Williams might. Jim McMahon might. Joe Flacco might.Neil O'Donnellagrees with you.
He had a guaranteed base salary of $11.9 million for the 2016 season that was effective 4/1/16. Not saying he was worth it, but that was the stumbling block to any trades and why they couldn't work out a deal. They couldn't get anything for Kaep in a trade. Rumors were SF wanted a 2nd rounder
Baalke/York
Those guys all won though. Kaep won the Poinsetta Bowl though, that's cool.Doug Williams might. Jim McMahon might. Joe Flacco might.Neil O'Donnellagrees with you.
I was speaking of DILFER.Those guys all won though. Kaep won the Poinsetta Bowl though, that's cool.
Those three are a damned sight better than these two.Doug Williams might. Jim McMahon might. Joe Flacco might.
