I don't think the Panthers have any intention of cutting or trading Bryce. However, it does seem clear that Adam Schefter and his ilk are trying to spread that story. Shameless mouthpieces of agents
Once you quit on a guy 2 games into his second season there's no going back. I don't think what Andy Dalton does or doesn't do will matter to anyone evaluating Bryce Young for a potential trade. What did Zach Wilson go for? Bryce has looked much worse. The worst thing for Bryce Young is if Andy Dalton looks good. It would tank his trade value and it would make it hard to go back to him.
Agreed. Would be surprised if they traded Bryce. Let's see how he handles this benching.I don't think the Panthers have any intention of cutting or trading Bryce. However, it does seem clear that Adam Schefter and his ilk are trying to spread that story. Shameless mouthpieces of agents![]()
Fields was leading the NFL in TD passes through week 5 last year with 11 TDs (12 total with 1 rushing TD) before he got injured in week 6Maybe it will be good for him to watch a couple games. When Fields was hurt last year and Bagent started for a month, JF got to see how another QB ran the same offense. He definitely learned from the experience and took away a couple things from it. JF down the stretch last year was much better than before injury.
When you only have 2 QBs on the active roster, there is a good chance he plays again this year even due to injury.Once you quit on a guy 2 games into his second season there's no going back. He was also 1-5 with 6 INT, 2 fumbles and 24 sacks pre-injury. Finished the year 4-3, 3 INTs, 2 fumbles and 20 sacks. Baker didn't fail in Cleveland. The Browns fell for someone shinier and it was a generationally catastrophic decision for the franchise.Star? Probably not. But there have been some QBs who just take longer to play better. Baker Mayfield and Same Darnold are statistically two of the better QBs so far this year. Both failed to be franchise guys at their first stop.Has there been any good examples of qbs that were benched because they sucked so much (coachspeak is that they need to regain their confidence) and then come back and be a star?
Every example i can think of leads to Young getting cut
Probably not. That would mean ignoring most of what’s wrong with him. A backup such as Dalton could have done that.Does Young get some credit for resurrecting Adam Thielen's career at age 33?
In the CAR @ MIA game last year, I saw some flashes of QB skill as the Panthers got out to a 14-0 lead, 1 TD pass to lTheilen, who ended with 100+ yards.
I think that was just a function of peppering a veteran savvy guy with a ton of targets. Diontae is also a savvy veteran, but something happened to Bryce's confidence/ability to deliver the ball.Does Young get some credit for resurrecting Adam Thielen's career at age 33?
I have zero doubt he can play QB.....but not in the NFL.Does Young get some credit for resurrecting Adam Thielen's career at age 33?

It's hard to throw when you can't see downfield....because 6'4-6'7 lineman block your view of the field. Also the speed of the pro game is overwhelming him.I think that was just a function of peppering a veteran savvy guy with a ton of targets. Maybe but by many accounts he rocked today and has had super days each summer in camp so maybe not too. It's definitely a discussion the Panthers have to have. Why does this work and not that? Why is he successful then and not now? EtcIt's hard to throw when you can't see downfield....because 6'4-6'7 lineman block your view of the field. Yes, if he can start building up his legs for better jumping over the OL to see his targets I think he can have a comeback and shut up the haters.Everyone loves a good comeback story. I hope Young can pull it off and shut up the haters
Is it legal for o-linemen to wear cameras on front linked to displays on back to make them effectively transparent for the QB? If not, that seems very heightist of the NFL ... super not woke ... time to cancel.Yes, if he can start building up his legs for better jumping over the OL to see his targets I think he can have a comeback and shut up the haters.Everyone loves a good comeback story. Yeah or he can wear shoes that are 3 inches higher.. Maybe some of those "High Heel Cleets"Yes, if he can start building up his legs for better jumping over the OL to see his targets I think he can have a comeback and shut up the haters.Everyone loves a good comeback story. I offered him along with my 2025 3rd (assumed late?) for a 2025 2nd. I made that offer to basically everyone but the top few teams: 4 rejected, the others didn't respond.Ok, real deal here - for those dynasty owners what are you doing with Young? I know the options are very limited - sell for peanuts to a QB desperate team that might take him on as a flyer or hold and hope he gets another shot in a year or 2.
He may even get another shot later this year but he definitely needs some time sitting. I don't think he is as bad as he has looked this year but there is definitely concerns if he doesn't start to look better and play better.
I'm really torn as a contender in my one league as to get anything I can or just hold in hopes he gets another shot later. Throw him in as a pot sweetner in a deal is probably the only real option here. Man this is rough.
Ive put him on the Taxi squad and forgot about him. I’m not selling him for a random 2nd or whatever best case scenario is I can get for him at this point. It’s definitely concerning because he looks just as bad as he did last year, but I have to be believe he’s better than this. He’s not as good as I thought he would be(not hardly) but I just refuse to believe he’s this bad. So I’ll just hold, and either pray he gets traded, or looks a lot better the next time he’s on the field for Carolina. Hopefully the former.Ok, real deal here - for those dynasty owners what are you doing with Young? I'd rather hold than accept a 3rd in Superflex. He's been bad, but there's little upside to selling now unless you can get a 2nd+I offered him along with my 2025 3rd (assumed late?) for a 2025 2nd. If I could get a projected early 3rd right here right now .... maybe ..... In our league 3rds are just not really worth anything though. Comically it would feel better dropping him than thinking about what I'm going to do with that stupid 3rd rounder.
Bryce has a huge mountain to climb and the NFL does not wait around. Carolina is done with him. They will draft another QB in 2025...it's a guarantee. Cut your losses....move on. Much like the Cardinals did with Rosen.
I roster him only in 1 superflex league and I might as well just hold.I'd rather hold than accept a 3rd in Superflex. It's over and if I were playing dynasty football I'd hold until the end of the year and hope things get better, so I could maybe flip him for a second if I found a swooning and simpering suitor. Because that's what it will take. Swooning and simpering and maybe a second if the GM of said dynasty squad is lucky.

Those "Insiders" connected to agents really seem to want this, but I highly doubt the Panthers want to do it.
From Diana Russini:Those "Insiders" connected to agents really seem to want this, but I highly doubt the Panthers want to do it.
That is some pretty definitive talk, it's really surprising. It’s over for Bryce Young in Carolina
The NFC South is spicy right now and could have the most wins of any division after three weeks. They also have the Panthers…
Things are bad in Carolina right now. After just two games in a new offensive system with a new head coach, the Panthers made a bold decision and pulled the plug on 2023 No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young.
It’s over. No matter what Carolina says, rest assured: It’s over.
This isn’t an experiment.
This isn’t a Ross and Rachel break.
This is Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston over.
The quarterback was stunned when told he’d been benched. On the field, the offense is frustrated. One Panthers player said, “Young was making the same mistakes over and over.”
Young was fully aware that he needed to improve, but he was reassured that he was still the guy. The coaching staff told him they were in this together. They told him that “he was fine,” and that they were all on board to reach their goals.
On Monday, it changed.
It’s why Young admitted he was surprised by the move — he thought he had more time. First-year head coach David Canales told the world it was his call, but it was hard to find anyone in the league who believed that owner David Tepper had nothing to do with this decision.
History in Carolina tells us that while Tepper has tried to be more hands-off and allow the football people to make the football decisions, it’s never that easy. Even people on the Panthers believe ownership said, enough. “Too much changed from Sunday to Monday,” one source added. Now, veteran Andy Dalton gets a shot at trying to give the offense some life.
Eighteen months ago, Tepper and the Panthers had a choice: Young or C.J. Stroud with the No. 1 overall pick. Tepper and company told people and were convinced that they found their Drew Brees in Young. The height and weight were always an issue for the team, but they were willing to pick outside the prototype quarterback in hopes of hitting the jackpot.

Yeah....I think they just need to suck with Dalton and then some of the stink gets spread around and Bryce gets another shot. Those "Insiders" connected to agents really seem to want this, but I highly doubt the Panthers want to do it.
Bingo. Losing the locker room is something they don't want to do.As much as people want to blame Tepper for the benching, I suspect it was the players saying if something isn't done this team will quit.
Cut your losses and admit when you made a mistake.
I was never a fan of Bryce’s but the whole Panthers organization is a mistake right now. He’s had 3 HCs in 18 games and their record since moving on from Ron Rivera is a combined 19-52.Cut your losses and admit when you made a mistake.
