Per NFL Network's Kara Henderson, Daunte Culpepper will start under center for the Lions on Sunday against the Steelers.

Coach Jim Schwartz was noncommittal all week on who he would start with Matthew Stafford dealing with his balky knee. The Steelers' defense is due for a breakout game, and it could come at Culpepper's expense. He should be benched, as the Lions' offense will go as far as Kevin Smith takes them.

This gives the lions the best chance to win. I would like to see Culpepper do well and give Stafford plenty of time to develop.
