QB Geno Smith, LV (2 Viewers)

Hearing mixed assessments of the Seattle O-line. Latest was that it might be the worst in the league. That would scare me away Geno in redraft. Hopefully this gets cleared up a bit in the next few weeks.

2024 NFL offensive line rankings: Lions take top spot, led by Penei Sewell and Frank Ragnow

Excerpt:

31. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Seattle battled offensive line injuries and their young offensive tackle duo did not necessarily make any expected improvements in 2023. And this season could be even worse.

The Seahawks moved on from starters Evan Brown and Damien Lewis, and their interior trio consists of former backups — Olusegun Oluwatimi and Anthony Bradford — and a former first-round pick who had a couple of recent disappointing seasons in Laken Tomlinson. They will desperately need offensive tackles Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas to reach the potential they flashed in their rookie seasons.

@Drake Hater @Mitchie

Geno Smith is set to undergo testing after missing the Seahawks' last two practices. My understanding is he's been dealing with hip and knee issues. Said Mike Macdonald: "He’s working through a couple things from the other day. But we’ll get some imaging tonight, and we’ll see."

Macdonald said Smith "got banged up a little bit" on Tuesday. Asked if he expects Smith to return tomorrow, Macdonald said: "I don’t know about tomorrow, but we’ll see what comes out of when he goes and sees the doc."

Good news that he won’t miss any more time. Geno was throwing well the first week of camp and he’s a post-hype sleeper to potentially get back to his numbers from two years ago.

Rookie defensive head coach + grizzly banged-up barely was QB + bad OL. Interesting formula in Seattle this year.

Thought he played great last night. I have Love, Fields and Smith on my team in a 1QB, short bench league. With Love back I’m trying to move one. Will see what the market is. Sure are some underperforming QB’s out there

Yep. Game script was perfect. Lions really great against the run. It was the perfect storm.

56 passes
395 pass yds, +38 rush yds
1 TD, 1 Interception

-Lot of empty calories is what you get
How many times will he throw 56 passes this season in a game?

On the flip side, he was pretty unlucky to not end up with 3 passing tds as two of those KW rushing tds were from a yard out after a WR got stopped at the 1. That said, I agree with the general point. Not selling though, my other QB is ARich :frown:

He's not UNLUCKY my friend, he's Geno F-Bomb Smith
Par for the course

He’s also leading the league in passing yards and he’s second in completion percentage. Pretty impressive considering the line he’s working with.

He deserves some credit.

Geno's been solid, not great but above average NFL QB, a little up and down, team total from Vegas was 7.5 at beginning of season and they''ve got 8 with two games left.
For what he is getting paid he needs to be better than solid. And some of his mistakes have been total game killers.

He's a back up.

Better version of Jacoby Brissett.

Big Sunday for Geno, he's got $6m on the line.

Get a win for $2m.

Throw for 186 yards or more, collect another $2m.

Keep his completion percentage, which is currently 70.2%, above 69.755% and he'll collect another $2m.

I could be forgetting someone but that's the most monetary incentivized single game for anyone I can recall.

wow that's a big chunk of change, Seattle favored by 7, wonder if he sent McVay some cash to sit all his players.

So we pay Geno more money this week rather than look at Howell. got it.
I think they may have got enough of a look at Howell in Week 15. Say what you want about Geno, but he looked atrocious.
So 17 TD and 15 INT ratio allows him to earn more money once his team are eliminated ? C'mon. He sucked. No more cash.

He didn't earn a cent of this salary this year let alone these bonuses.

Seahawks need to make a stand here.

Or get someone on the team to punch him in the face.
