Any new word if he's practiced or his thumb/finger has fallen off?

Today will be their first practice of the week, so an update on his thumb should come later today.
Per ESPN Insider: ESPN's John Clayton reports "the thought" around the Panthers is that Jake Delhomme (thumb) might have to sit out Week 15.
Per Charlotte Observer: Panthers head coach John Fox confirmed Monday that if Jake Delhomme (thumb) is healthy in time for Week 15, he will start.
For what it's worth, I found this...

He didn't practice today.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme did not practice today, although he was out on the field. Delhomme, who is recovering from a torn ligament in his right thumb, sat out last week's game against the New York Giants. He was replaced by backup Chris Weinke, who threw for a team-record 423 yards. Delhomme's status for Sunday's game with Pittsburgh remains uncertain, but if he can play, coach John Fox has said he will start. Also missing practice were starting cornerbacks Ken Lucas and Chris Gamble, both still bothered by hamstring injuries.

For those keeping track on the situation...

Despite missing practice Wednesday, QB Jake Delhomme (thumb) said he's "a little optimistic" about playing this week "because I can kind of see it maybe turning a little bit."

"We still have a bunch (of swelling) and we're trying to get it out," Delhomme said. "It was deep in there. I'm not a doctor, I just go by what they tell me and the frustrating thing for me is that a doctor can't give you a timeline on this because I have to tell them."

Panthers | Delhomme misses practice, may not playThu, 14 Dec 2006 10:09:51 -0800Carolina Panthers QB Jake Delhomme (thumb) did not practice again Thursday, Dec. 14, and remains questionable for Week 15. Head coach John Fox said Delhomme may try to test his injured thumb during practice Friday, Dec. 15, but it appears he may miss his second straight game.
Your daily update!

I am not sure if this is good news or bad news for the Panthers.
As for FF, I doubt many riding the way to their championship have hitched their wagon to Delhomme. There are those who have S. Smith though and I would assume they would rather the Jake be there, eventhough Weinke hit Smith 5 times and threw for over 400 yds last week.

anyone taking a risk and going with drew carter
you are reading my mind.i think so...over rod smith. was going to start marcus robinson till he went inactive. the way i'm looking at it, gotta gamble with my wr4, and rod hasn't particularly done anything to warrant me keeping him in there.
