Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme did not practice today, although he was out on the field. Delhomme, who is recovering from a torn ligament in his right thumb, sat out last week's game against the New York Giants. He was replaced by backup Chris Weinke, who threw for a team-record 423 yards. Delhomme's status for Sunday's game with Pittsburgh remains uncertain, but if he can play, coach John Fox has said he will start. Also missing practice were starting cornerbacks Ken Lucas and Chris Gamble, both still bothered by hamstring injuries.
