That’s because there is never a need to get tickets for Rodgers’ familyI can't believe they sat his mom and girlfriend in the last row. That would never happen to Rodgers. They were next to Bob Uecker!
It could easily end up as a Love/hate relationship.Packers fans have been spoiled with 2 decades of top QB performances - they are about to see how the other teams live.....ugly
What team in their right minds would trade for Love? Rodgers wants out and he will get his wish next year. The Packers really need to find a way to trade Love and extend Rodgers if they want to remain relevant. There is no reason to force a rebuild ~5 years earlier than it needs to happen. They are superbowl contenders as long as Rodgers is in town.

Whether he plays again this year or not, I think it’s about 99% certain Jordan Love will be the Packers starting QB week 1 next season.Balco said:My biggest fear as a Packer fan is Gut/Lafleur are stubborn with Love and he goes into camp camp competing for job. Cut your losses and get two qbs in there with upside. Honestly would rather have a guy like Geno Smith as a bridge qb.
Either way, I was a fan before the Favre era began and I will be just as big a fan after the Rodgers era. Was a great run. Hoping for a methodical, smart rebuilding process.
Its gonna be a weird time in a year or two, when the Bears have the best QB in the division, which hasn't happened since at least McMahon, but probably Luckman.Kiddnets said:Packers fans have been spoiled with 2 decades of top QB performances - they are about to see how the other teams live.....ugly
Just to add a little context - reports out of Green Bay last year were that Love looked terrible in practices. This season you could tell that coaches were trying to hype him up a little although reports still indicated Love was struggling.Yes, I’m a bit surprised Love is being buried after one NFL start.
Don’t disagree with this. Just stinks though.Whether he plays again this year or not, I think it’s about 99% certain Jordan Love will be the Packers starting QB week 1 next season.
He’s still virtually a rookie look what all the rookie QBs have looked like this season so far.Just to add a little context - reports out of Green Bay last year were that Love looked terrible in practices. That brings us to the Chiefs game - Love did nothing to refute what was being written about him. He sailed passes, he threw curveballs, and he had a heck of a time reading defenses pre-snap.
I guess people were expecting a guy making his first NFL start to look like Rodgers?Saw a graphic yesterday on Twitter that compared Love's stats from his first game to Favre's first game and Rodgers" first game. Love had the better stats. Good thing Ron Wolf and Ted Thompson didn't listen to the advice of fans or message board posters.
Its a social media thing. No one associated with the team has that mindset, nor do most fans. It was a tough situation for him and I think most recognize he did pretty well.Yes, I’m a bit surprised Love is being buried after one NFL start.
I think if Rodgers is out you have to start Love again. And no, an additional td would not change my view on his performance. What would the story line be had Love managed to get one more TD on the board? Win the game 14-13, the Packers Defense was pretty strong all game, didn't break when they knew the offense couldn't score.
What if the Packers had won 14-13? Would fans say start Love again?
I could see him on waiver wires in shallow start 1qb leagues, even if Rodgers wasn't on the team.Yes, I’m a bit surprised Love is being buried after one NFL start.
That doesn't really respond to what I said.I could see him on waiver wires in shallow start 1qb leagues, even if Rodgers wasn't on the team.
How is that? You said people are burying Love after one start, I'm saying perhaps it isn't important to keep him in shallow start 1qb regardless of Rodgers' situation. That doesn't really respond to what I said.
You know @Dr. Octopus wasn't telling anyone Jordan Love is a startable fantasy QB in shallow start 1 leagues, don't you? Fun fact - Aaron Rodgers is currently QB15, and is QB13 in PPG, so even he is not important to keep in shallow start 1QB leagues. How is that? You said people are burying Love after one start, I'm saying perhaps it isn't important to keep him in shallow start 1qb regardless of Rodgers' situation.
Exactly. There's a huge gap between saying some one shouldn't be totally dismissed after his first career start to saying he should be rostered in all leagues. You know @Dr. Octopus wasn't telling anyone Jordan Love is a startable fantasy QB in shallow start 1 leagues, don't you? I really don't like this argument. How many years does a guy get to sit in the bench before he's no longer "virtually a rookie"? I understand we're talking about a special case with Love and the 2020 season, but the 2020 qb class as a whole was phenomenal, why does he get to slide into this 2021 mediocre group because he was lucky enough to spend an extra year learning his offense's system? Shouldn't we be putting more pressure on him because of that? "Hey Love, Herbert's on his second oc and in his first game he was thrown in with less than an hour to prepare, what's your excuse for playing like Zach Wilson?"He’s still virtually a rookie look what all the rookie QBs have looked like this season so far.
I could not believe my eyes when Mahomes sacked Love. He’s not virtually a rookie. He’s been in an NFL system and practices for almost 20 months now.
All the reports about him have basically been “wow is this guy bad” and then he came out and played really poorly against a terrible offense. I don’t see how Green Bay fans can take anything positive out of this at all but each their own.
It was his first NFL start in his second season. I’m not seeing a huge distinction between him and a rookie.I really don't like this argument. Take whatever you will from one start, but the argument doesn't hold water.
I'm not disagreeing with your overall point, that we can't make snap judgements based on a single game, but a year spent on the bench learning an NFL system is worth so much more than years spent in a college system to the point that I still don't understand why more fringe players don't declare early, take a smaller shorter contract, and then try to cash in on their second and third while they're still relatively young. Does Love not get any sort of head start (and I'd argue a huge head start) over guys like Fields and Mack simply because he's more than accustomed to the terminology of the offense and level of the talent in players he practices against? I know practice isn't a game, but even going 75% in practice a second string NFL player is still better than some bowl team starter who didn't even end up as a udfa.It was his first NFL start in his second season. I’m not seeing a huge distinction between him and a rookie.
It’s one game, and we’re unlikely to get to see if he would have progressed. I’m not sure if what I said was controversial.
He absolutely has an advantage over rookies - hes been in the system and practiced for over a year - but nothing is a substitute for game action, whether its in his rookie year or 2d yr.....thats the problem with sitting these guys. On one hand its an advantage to sit and learn but on the other hand they need at least a season of game action to be evaluated so you cant even expect to properly evaluate a QB until yr 3 if he sits a yr. Heck there were still people convinced Darnold was a franchise QB after 3 full lousy seasons.I'm not disagreeing with your overall point, that we can't make snap judgements based on a single game, but a year spent on the bench learning an NFL system is worth so much more than years spent in a college system to the point that I still don't understand why more fringe players don't declare early, take a smaller shorter contract, and then try to cash in on their second and third while they're still relatively young. Its one game and we can toss it out as small sample size. Someone posted up thread about how he out preformed Farve and Rodgers's first starts (which is a bit of a false equivalence, both started before the league was as pass heavy and breathing on the QB was a penalty), so again, can't even give him the Nathan Peterman treatment. What we can't toss out is two years of reports that he just doesn't have "it" and hasn't been improving. You can't say that about the rookies simply because they are actually rookies.
Don't even get me started on Darnold.Kiddnets said:He absolutely has an advantage over rookies - hes been in the system and practiced for over a year - but nothing is a substitute for game action, whether its in his rookie year or 2d yr.....thats the problem with sitting these guys. Rosterable and startable are one and the same to me. Why would anyone roster someone they wouldn't start?I said he might not be rosterable in some shallow start 1 QB leagues and said nothing about whether he’s startable.
Well, you obviously don’t play in dynasty leagues.Rosterable and startable are one and the same to me. Why would anyone roster someone they wouldn't start?
that is true. redraft only for meWell, you obviously don’t play in dynasty leagues.
Or redraft leagues with skillful managers because players you wouldn't think of starting today are often starters tomorrow.Well, you obviously don’t play in dynasty leagues.
Speaking Wednesday, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said it's "very doubtful" he'd field trade offers for third-year QB Jordan Love.
This shouldn't come as a surprise with Aaron Rodgers' playing future in doubt. But it's at least worth mentioning. Love, the 26th overall pick in 2020, has three years left of team control on his rookie deal, so there's no rush to move him, even of Rodgers does commit to playing in 2022. Love also has put nothing good on film in limited action. There's no chance the Packers would get anywhere close to a first-round pick in a Love trade.

Of course he is lol. He’s looked horrible.Looks like he is available for a trade.
what an epic waste of a 1st rder - they may get a 4th rder based on upside at best.Looks like he is available for a trade.
Was a 3rd round caliber prospect at the time in my opinion. I agree, I'd be shocked if they got anything higher than a day 3 pick for him. Arguably 7 QBs in this draft who are better too.what an epic waste of a 1st rder - they may get a 4th rder based on upside at best.
