There’s a bona fide Heisman candidate in Seattle.
His name, Michael Penix Jr. His game, filthy! His receivers, elite. The Huskies have a squad.
Accurate and poised with a remarkable feel for the position: No. 9 is at the focal point of it all on Montlake!
Jordan Reid
Two great examples from today’s game vs. Boise State of Michael Penix Jr. generating velocity and distance by strictly using his upper-body.
Powerful arm.
As an Indiana fan, I’m happy for him but sad he never stayed healthy at IUHis knees make him risky, but he can really play.
Kyle Lindemann
Even more impressive toss from Michael Penix Jr. when you consider he’s out there fighting the elements like George Clooney in The Perfect Storm.
Herd w/ Colin Cowherd
"I think he upgrades 13 NFL teams next week... The fact that it wasn't even a debate at the end for the Heisman just shows that people don't watch Washington football."
— @joelklatt makes the case for Michael Penix Jr.

These throws were just ridiculous

Michael Penix Jr was on another level in the Sugar Bowl

Yeah. He was throwing it way down field and putting it where only his guy could get it or right in stride. In a game of college stars, I came away the most impressed with him.I've heard countless people say that his medical evaluation will be the biggest factor in where he goes.
But this is the by far the lowest opinion I've seen anyone have on him and I do NOT agree. I can see some stuff, mainly medical, pushing him into round 2 but can't see him falling farther then that, this seems like a bad take to me but Tice is solid so I'll relay it.

I personally view Penix as a 3rd round prospect.Love the aggression that he plays with, but have hesitations about his anticipation, footwork and repeatable accuracy. That's before getting into age, medicals, etc.
Are you being serious? Ahead of Caleb and Drake? Not to mention J Daniels.he's going to be bellichick's toy for the next 10 years.
he's not going past #2 pick, might go #1 when someone gives a bounty for the pick.
His name makes me slightly uncomfortable. Is that the plural?

Michael is a pretty common name. Not sure why you aren’t comfortable.
I'd be surprised to see him picked in the first 3 rounds.um, no. He's not going top 8. He throws a nice deep ball. And he is doing it behind a great OL that is giving him all day to do it. He has forever back there. It won't be that way in the NFL. There's a slim chance he goes at 10 if ATL stays put and the other 3 QBs are gone.

I think the medical evaluation will complicate things. NFL teams get real critical of that aspect. Not being able to finish 4 of his 6 seasons is a red flag.NFL draftI'd be surprised to see him picked in the first 3 rounds.um, no. He's not going top 8. He throws a nice deep ball. there's absolutely no way you watch football and would be suprised at him going in the first 3 rounds.
he's an absolute LOCK for 1st round, likely in the top 15 and even top 10. Hell, top 5-6 wouldnt shock me.

Listen I get it... But he finished this season in perfetc health. Teams are DESPERATE for a qb. and this kid has mega talent. he's a top 15 lock, imo. by draft time, a top 10 lock
It won't complicate it that much. NFL teams know about it already. It's not like a running back where previous knee injuries make you damaged goods. He showed good mobility in the Sugar bowl. The "S" and "X" key are very close on a keyboard. I understand the uncomfortableness with his name completely. His name makes me slightly uncomfortable. Is that the plural?
He’s a little stiff though. He will be a very good pro QB, lots of poise, really strong arm and downfield accuracy.
Penix will last longest if he's drafted by a team with blue uniforms. He’s a little stiff though. He will be a very good pro QB, lots of poise, really strong arm and downfield accuracy.

If I’m that dude’s agent, I’m on the phone with Trojan, Durex, Viagra, etc. right now immediately.
You'll have to show me the Caleb WIlliams quote/comment about financial interests. Or wanting to have ownership in a team. Most of the things I saw were insinuations and guesswork by an instagram account trying to get hits. Nothing was attributed to Caleb (or his dad). just made up BS.Way better than the other QB in the draft class people are saying will go first, who puts his financial interests over the interests of the teams he plays for, sits out bowls, paints his nails, and is too soft to do pressers after losses. Give me a true gamer like Penix who wills his college team to wins over top ranked teams because he pours his heart and soul into the sport over Caleb any day. Those throws against Texas in the playoff game were elite and he put on a performance for the ages. He already has more bowl wins and playoff appearances/wins than Caleb (with much lesser supporting talent) and deserves to be the top QB selected in the 2024 draft class.
Let other real life NFL teams and fantasy dynasty teams waste their pick on Caleb’s fool’s gold and laugh when Penix falls to you.
I really think they go for a vet. Maybe Russ, or Fields if he's available?Atlanta
