QB Mike White, Miami Dolphins (1 Viewer)

That WR set is probably the best in the league and it only takes a half-competent qb to exploit it...
Others can laugh at you but if we're talking about Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson, they are a strong up and coming combo at WR
I know Moore got himself in the dog house but I think it's just a product of a really talented WR entering Year 2 saying, what the bleep, can't anyone throw me the ball so I can make plays?
Not sure they are Top 5 just yet but they have a chance to be every bit as lethal as some other combos in the NFL considered elite already.
Good observation

Would not doubt that the offensive players have been saying all year that Wilson sucks and have been watching White week after week
in practice make correct decisions and throws, wondering why the F he is not playing.

They could care less who was drafted where and how the franchise does not want to look bad that they wasted a top 1st round pick on a bust,
which they have. More than obvious Wilson does not have the head nor the work ethic to be a starting QB at this point.

The bulb has not come on, maybe it is dimly lit, that is about it. He does not have "it", at best he will be a journeyman backup

I think this is far from the truth. Cincy, Minnesota, Buffalo, Tampa are all better just to name a few.

In can be debated and Cin is up there

Min - they have jefferson and an aging thielen
tampa - they are just old
buf - surprised you would say this, they have diggs

NYJ - up and coming for sure but wilson and moore and davis and mims is a great wr set that has just been used so poorly. If these guys were on GB or TB it would be the greatest show on turf again (provided they played on turf)

Miami- Hill and Waddle and there can't be a lot of debate about this duo at WR right now
Cinci- Chase and Higgins, lethal as all can be, Higgins is a WR1 on almost any team in the NFL minus a handful.
TB-Evans and Godwin are really good, Brady has fallen off a lot this year.
SEA-Metcalf and Lockett very accomplished already
Philly-AJBrown and the Slim Reaper is pretty good and they're racking wins

There are other teams where I might want the WR1 plus Anyone, example would be Adams in Vegas, is Hollins the WR2? Same for Justin Jefferson and Minnesota
But there's not as many successful 1-2 punches at WR as everyone seems to think in the months of say January thru May and then it really builds up some silly steam when we hit June-July and August when every healthy NFL WR is set to have 1,000 yds and 10 TDs

Up and coming is not best in the league, Wilson will be a stud, Moore talented but also a bit overhyped in fantasy community, Davis solid vet, Mims yeah talent coming into the league but has done nothing.

No argument there on miami and cinici - top 2 wrs are phenomenal

I just think the jets have a ton of talent but have nobody to get the ball too them...

Mike White completed 31-of-57 passes for 369 yards and two interceptions in the Jets’ 27-22, Week 13 loss against the Vikings, adding three rushes for n additional seven yards and a touchdown.

White and the Jets got off to a slow start but hung in the game. White’s first interception came off of a tipped ball and it led to immediate points for the Vikings. He chipped away and eventually was able score on a quarterback sneak late in the game to make it close. White connected with Corey Davis and Garrett Wilson late in the fourth quarter in a comeback attempt, but a game-winning interception by Vikings’ DB Camryn Bynum ended the Jets’ hope of a comeback. White will have a tougher matchup in Week 14 against the Bills.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Mike White will start in Week 14 against the Bills.

White's up-and-down performance against the Vikings wasn't enough to deter Saleh from trusting White in an important divisional matchup with the Bills. Despite a slow start, White gutted out a tough performance against the Vikings, bringing the Jets within five points in the 27-22 defeat after trailing 20-6 at halftime. White threw for 251 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions when he faced the Bills last season and will be hard to trust as anything more than a low-end QB2 this week.

White flamed out vs the Bills last year and needs to play well against them this week to prove he can be trusted in a big time game on the road. Settling for field goals against a soft Viking defense was an ambivalent result.

what are the chances he starts for the jets next year?
I’d think fairly high right now. They won’t have a high pick and the projected free agent QBs aren’t better.
It’s entirely possible they draft someone like Herndon Hooker but white starts the season.

what are the chances he starts for the jets next year?
I'm not sure it can really be quantified but I think the odds are less than 50% for a few reasons. White has played one very good and one fairly decent game this season. He has shown to be a limited QB in the past and looked as bad as Zach Wilson has at times last season (most notably against Buffalo). Also Mike White will be a FA in the offseason.

If I had to try and estimate the odds of who is the Jets starting QB on opening day next season:

Mike White 42%
Mid-level Free Agent (i.e. Jimmy G, Geno Smith) 33%
Rookie QB - 15%
Zach Wilson - 8%
Trade or sign stud QB (Jackson, Rodgers) - 2%

You forgot “sign Sam Darnold” 😂

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Mike White is day to day with a rib injury.

Saleh noted that the team is still gathering information on White's injury. The fifth-year veteran left Sunday's game against the Bills on multiple occasions due to injury but returned to play out the remainder of the game both times. White went to a nearby hospital after the game but was on the team flight to head home in the evening. Saleh said he expects White to be available for the team's Week 15 matchup against the Lions, but his situation will be one to monitor throughout the week.

How big of a drop off if Zach has to start vs Lions?

How big of a drop off if Zach has to start vs Lions?

Massive.

How big of a drop off if Zach has to start vs Lions?
imagine playing a qb with no arms. that is how bad wilson is. armless.
They'd be better off signing and playing Cam Newton. That's how big a drop it is.

Mike White (ribs) said he's "ready to roll" for Week 15 against the Lions.

White, after absorbing two brutal hits to the midsection in Week 14 against the Bills, said he's preparing as if he'll start against Detroit on Sunday. “I feel like I can play," White said, who was taken to the hospital after New York's loss to Buffalo. "I feel like I’m ready to roll.” Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Monday that White is day to day with his rib issue. White has had pass volume on his side over his past two starts, throwing 101 passes but failing to throw a touchdown since his Week 12 debut against the Bears. If White falters against Detroit, Zach Wilson could reclaim his starting spot, yips and all.

Jets HC Robert Saleh told reporters that QB Mike White (ribs) still has "a lot of hurdles" to clear before being able to play.

The Jets play Thursday night, making White a long shot to suit up. That would put Zach Wilson in line to start another game, with Saleh confirming that Wilson would get the nod over Joe Flacco. White would presumably start if healthy but is potentially still multiple weeks away from returning. If the Jets remain firmly in the playoff hunt after Week 16, it's possible White guts out a Week 17 return.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Mike White will start in Week 17 against the Seahawks.

Jets fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as they won't be forced to watch former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson make the start in a crucial matchup against the Seahawks. After being sidelined for the last two weeks with a rib injury, White was cleared for contact by team doctors on Monday, and subsequently re-inserted as the team's QB1. White started Weeks 12, 13 and 14 for the Jets, throwing for 952 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while going 1-2 in those games. In Week 14 against the Bills, White was sidelined twice with injuries and evaluated at a hospital after the game before joining the team for the flight home. White will be hard to trust as anything more than a mid-QB2 in a game with massive playoff implications for the Jets.

The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt believes Mike White's chances of starting for the Jets in 2023 may hinge on his performance in Week 17 and Week 18.

"White is a free agent this offseason. Whether it’s for the Jets or someone else, these last two games will go a long way toward determining whether White is a viable option as a starter," Rosenblatt said. White will return from his rib injury in Week 17 against the Seahawks, and will presumably finish out the season with a Week 18 start against Miami. A vast upgrade over failed first-round pick Zach Wilson, White could convince the Jets to bring him back on a short-term contract if he guts out a couple wins to close the year. White hasn't been particular good, with the league's ninth lowest completion rate over expected, but he's New York's best QB option for now. White has plenty of streaming appeal this week against a weak Seattle secondary.

For the sake of my dynasty rebuild I hope this dude takes the job and never gives it up (I have Wilson/White in SF as my only QBs besides Zappe & Rypien)

Same. I’m sitting there in my rebuild with just him and Lance as my QB’s in a 2QB league. I have 7 2023 1sts so if White can be the starter next year for me that would be huge as it’ll allow me some flexibility with drafting.

These next couple games are enormous for him.

Yep - for my rebuild that would be huge if White can solidify week 1 2023 starter. He may have even played his way to consideration for another team at this point if that doesn't happen. Agree that this week and next are huge for the kid.

And in real life, it would give the Jets a huge leg up on the 2023 draft & FA if QB is not a need for them.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Mike White is dealing with some rib soreness but should be ready to play in Week 18 against the Dolphins.

After being eliminated from playoff contention in last week's loss to the Seahawks, the Jets are simply looking to finish out the season. White absolutely imploded in his first game back from injury last week, throwing two interceptions and losing a fumble while failing to get the Jets into the end zone. White will look to rebound in Sunday's season-finale against the Dolphins but is nothing more than a low-end QB2 for fantasy purposes.
