QB Taysom Hill, NO (3 Viewers)

Where Hill is TE eligible, he's the perfect last pick in your draft.
But would you ever start him? He seems pretty great in Bestball but not sure in redraft I'd ever confidently have him over my TE1 in there.
He was a God-send for me in a Yahoo league. I got totally shut out at TE (obviously my own doing, I refused to reach and I got killed at te because of it).
I picked him up yesterday when they added TE to his position.

Thinking about dropping Njoku and rolling with Hill (I don't typically like to keep two TEs and need to drop one for a K before season starts). I feel like that's crazy but Hill's utility upside seems too good. That NO backfield is suspect and I could see Hill getting decent rushing opportunities, especially around the goal line (although... in this offense those may be few and far between).

In non-PPR, here are his TE finishes:
2023 - TE7
2022 - TE3
2021 - TE5
2020 - TE3

In PPR, here are his TE finishes:
2023 - TE12
2022 - TE9
2021 - TE21
2020 - TE7

You may not like how he gets his points, but he gets them. In 60 games over the last 4 seasons, he has 40 TD's. No other TE has more (yes, even Travis Kelce).

Similar situation for me. I dropped Goedert for him. Still not sure it’s the right call, but Goedert isn’t going to be picked up off the wire in my league and there’s a few warm bodies just like him.

It is what it is, but I completely punted on tight end in my draft, and I think I’ll roll the dice on Hill TDs for a few weeks to see how it shakes out. If it’s not working I’ll throw him out to sea and pickup someone else… then watch him blow up.

I also have Hockenson on IR, so if Hill can someone start the season with a few tds I think it’s as good of a dice roll as any. With the possibility of a huge lottery ticket if something were to happen to Kamara or Carr. (I know he’s not the true backup/handcuff to either, I could just see him getting more touches if one of those guys goes down).

#Saints HC Dennis Allen on Taysom Hill:

“How many football players have you guys seen that are like Taysom Hill? That do all the different things that he does. It’s certainly obviously very unique. And I’m glad we have that skill set on our team that we can hopefully continue to be creative with how we want to utilize him — and, really, honestly, hopefully we can get maybe even a little bit more out of him than what we’ve been able to get to this point.”

At 34 years old, Saints star Taysom Hill is a freak of nature. The data proves that. nola.com/sports/saints/… via @nolanews

The #Saints track 10 performance metrics, pulling from field tracking data and the weight room. Taysom Hill is top 10 in 9 of them.

He squats 685 pounds — which is as high as the team will let him go. They’ve calculated his probable max at 750.

And, at 34, he’s getting better

Has someone told Chris Collinsworth that he squats 685#, so that he can tell us every time he touches the field?

Let’s get hill some tush push!

For anyone using CBS, they just moved him to TE. Not sure if other sites like MFL will follow, but just a heads up.
I like it but I would have drafted him if I knew. Too late in 1 league, on waivers in another. CBS admins had all off-season to decide. WTF. Shenanigans.
Unfortunately my league is 27 man roster IDP. He’s a street FA over there as waivers ran past night.

I literally have no one to drop. I’m going to curse loudly when I see someone add him long after I had the chance.

MFL still has him at QB.
I don’t see that changing.
A friend of mine is in a "team QB" league. Combining his stats with Carr's could provide some interesting results.
Oh wow, that's interesting. I never thought of that as many leagues do team-qb.
It's something he is looking at in case he is desperate at QB, it's not like anyone drafted Saints QB.

I mean, I might draft Saints QB if that's the case.

Hill had 146 points last year, and Carr had 294. If you do add them together, you're getting 440 points... That would put him only behind Josh Allen last year.

I'd say Team QB, Saints would be top 5 this year in a league where Hill is listed at QB.

To be fair to CBS. The Saints just changed his roster designation from QB to TE yesterday.

Wonder what happens if you have a Team QB spot and a Team TE slot, does he count in both?
Just think of the total points if he completed a TD pass to himself.
Your buddy should go pick them up right now. That is a low key brilliant move to start the saints team qb.

Guy in my CBS league dropped him last night for Juwan Johnson because he needed a TE and Taysom was still slotted as QB. He's on waivers for 24 hours. I was thinking of putting in a sneaky claim for him, but CBS just emailed everyone in the league his designation is changed. :lmao:

Just saw that and got mad.

Of all the damn bye weeks the saints had to have the same one as the Bills?!

No one’s added him yet. It won’t be long. :kicksrock:

ETA: Aaaaaaand there he goes. Gah!

When I wrote to the MFL Help last week they said he'd be a QB for this year. I went ahead and changed him to TE, because that's dumb.
Yeah, they tend to do things year by year.

My 2 sets of commishes did not change it. One of the commishes in one league is a T.Hill shareholder, so I feel for the dude. Puts him in a precarious spot. If he changes it he directly benefits & the league probably murmurs about it even though it’s the correct decision.

MFL still has him at QB.
As it should be

Why should some site over-rule an NFL team's official depth chart?
Don’t know, but every single snap I saw him play in the regular season was at QB, then takes off running.

In 2023.
2024 hasn’t started, so you go by 2023, not preseason. Looks like MFL is 100% right in this,

He's listed by the team as a TE. All of his pre-season snaps have been as an H-back type player, which is typically considered a TE.

It's possible he only lines up at QB like last year. But those are not the indications.

So I guess we'll see how it shakes out.

Again, we’ve already disagreed on this before. I agree with MFL and you don’t. We can leave it at that.
