QB to Start - Stafford or Mahomes - WHIR (1 Viewer)

Need to choose between these two.  The wrinkle in this is that my opponent owns three guys on the Chiefs:
Kareem Hunt - currently slotted as a starter
Tyreek Hill  - currently slotted as a starter
Sammy Watkins - currently slotted on his bench

So one consideration is that if Hill or Hunt scores a receiving TD, if I start Mahomes I also get the 6 points for the passing TD, so they would cancel each other out.  And if Hill and Hunt get shut down, I will probably win the week based on his 1st and 3rd round picks not doing much while I am feeling pretty good about the rest of my roster.  6 points for passing TD, -2 for interception, -0.5 for sack, 1 point per 25 passing yards, 1 point per 10 rushing yards.

Pick 1:

Matthew Stafford - home vs. NY Jets (FBG calls this a Good matchup for passing)
Patrick Mahomes - at LA Chargers (FBG calls this a Tough matchup for passing)

I go with Stafford over the unproven guy against a good Chargers defense.

You can't worry about who your opponent is starting.  If your team does what it's supposed to do, it won't matter.  Stafford should be able to handle himself against the Jets.

You are overthinking this. Stafford is a much better play than Mahomes.

OMG Stafford was awful tonight.  And Mahomes was terrific.  Last time I listen to you guys.

Although it wouldn't have mattered if I did start Mahomes - the Saints defense dragged me down.  But at least I am near the top of the waiver order this week!  Too bad nobody looks all that exciting to snag.
