QBBC Strategy (1 Viewer)

OK, have stumbled upon a QBBC strategy that I think could be a winner. It won't make your QB competitive with Brady/Rodgers but I think if you can strengthen your team at other positions this combo will make you competitive at the QB position and therefore a force in your league. So here goes:

Sanchez is an average (at best) NFL QB, but with a poor running game, targets like Holmes, Burress, Keller, and Tomlinson and a defense that isn't performing up to expectations he is a borderline startable fantasy QB...and even better his upcoming schedule is about to get pretty sweet.

Hasselbeck is a solid real-life QB, mediocre fantasy QB and comes with injury concerns. But in a QBBC this risk is lessened somewhat.

Neither of the above QBs is likely a full-time starter for their current fantasy squads and therefore can probably be obtained pretty cheaply. As such I am suggesting trading with their owners to (appear to be) downgrading your QB position (you likely won't) while upgrading another position (you undoubtedly will be if you are trading a name brand like Rivers, Romo, or Schaub).

If you are able to secure these two QBs, here are the match-ups you can look forward to:

Wk 8: TEN vs.Indy

Wk 9: NYJ @ Buff

Wk 10: NYJ vs. NE OR TEN @ Car

Wk 11: NYJ @ Den

Wk 12: NYJ vs. Buff

Wk 13: TEN @ Buff

Wk 14: NYJ vs. KC OR TEN vs. NO

Wk 15: TEN @ Indy

Wk 16: NYJ vs. NYG

As always, just my opinion.

I'd probably make a move like that if I was hurting really really bad at skill positions. I'm talking Jamaal Charles, Kenny Britt, Ryan Williams, Mark Ingram, Knowshon Moreno and Felix Jones type of bad. I'd hate to hinge my hopes on Sanchez, I can't stand that guy but good call on the schedules. I wouldn't mind "downgrading" to Eli Manning as well. I trust his WRs way more.

I use QBBC when my late rounder that I usually wait for doesn't pan out. I got Stafford and Roeth relatively late, so I haven't worried about waivers on it yet.

I was considering a similar strategy with Sanchez, but my 2nd QB would be Andy Dalton then Alex Smith then Andy Dalton

Pick up Dalton now, then Dump after week 8 for Smith...Dump Smith after week 14, pick up Dalton (as he'd probably be available after facing PIT, BAL, CLE, PIT, HOU)

Wk 8: CIN @ Sea

Wk 9: NYJ @ Buff

Wk 10: NYJ vs. NE

Wk 11: NYJ @ Den or SF vs Ariz

Wk 12: NYJ vs. Buff

Wk 13: SF vs StL

Wk 15: CIN @ StL

Wk 16: NYJ vs. NYG or CIN vs. Ariz

be careful with sanchez. ever since rex is going with his "ground n pound" sanchez has not been putting up passing yds. the tds are sprinkled but arent a guarantee every week. his passing yds 119,166,201,173. he has avgd 1.5 tds over past 4 games and .5 int.

I really like using matchups for QBs. As such, in an auction league I had the opportunity to pursue Eli or Sanchez this past week. Knowing full well there would be a few owners lined up for Eli, I went with Sanchez after seeing looking into his schedule. He only plays two top 15 defenses the rest of the way. And for teams that are going to be scrapping to get into the playoffs like me, his matchups against Buffalo (x2), Denver, and New England down the stretch should be enough to allow him to put up top 8 numbers or so. Take away that Ravens game and he's right in that third tier of QBs with the likes of Romo, Ben, Eli, and Stafford.

Sanchez just hung 20 on San Diego, who MFL has as the 4th worst passing matchup. I too am starting Dalton this weekend. Sanchez probably from here on out though except in Week 15.

I'm considering running a Sanchez/Tebow QBBC for the rest of the season on one league. This week, week 8 is an issue but from week 9-16 it's good match ups every week. I really don't buy into either QB much as NFL QBs, but this is one of those situation where the numbers are telling me to ignore my eyes. Tebow has been a steady fantasy producer when given a shot and Sanchez has been better than most want to admit. The Ravens game was a nightmare but in any QBBC scenario it's a game he is not starting for your team anyways. If you take out the Ravens game Sanchez has been quite productive in a per game average.

After reading this thread I might try and add Hass and run a 3 QB QBBC as he has a good match up this week and provides some coverage with other positive match ups later.

I'm doing this exactly. Sanchez and Tebow are my Qb's for the rest of the year. I had Bradford but dumped him. Might try to add Dalton or trade for Hasslebeck. I
