I looked at my year end scoring in my league at the QB position (admittedly we get extra points for longer TDs so the results aren't going to be standard).
That said...Obviously there is a big gap between 1 and 2 (Peyton to Brees).
Interestingly, the gap from Brees to Stafford is quite big as well, so big that the difference between Brees to Stafford (2 to 3), is as big as the gap from Stafford (no. 3) to Ryan Tannehill (who is no. 14 and not on a roster). (Of course Rodgers missed half the year, and probably would have been a comfortable no. 2 or 3 if healthy.)
Where am I going with this?
I looked back at the 2013 draft and counted 12 QBs taken in the first 75 picks based on ADP. I, retrospect, it seems like that was a waste
Do this year's results mean that once you get past the premium QBs (Rodgers, Brees, Manning) that one should wait even longer to take a QB (8th round or later perhaps, and load up in the earlier rounds), and that because there is so much throwing, that you could get decent stats from any of 20 QBs.
Any thoughts on this?
