I almost got submarined out of a win by leaving Quarles in my line up this past weekend. What happened? The word I had was Quatrles was practicing and was expected to play. Is he injured too badly to play, or has TB given up and gone with the rookie from here on out? Is Quarles done? Any info appreciated.....

 
I checked www.kffl.com at 11:45 AM CST and got the word that Quarles wasn't playing. So, it appears that the good news is that if Quarles will be out, the team will deactivate him so you know to play Ruud. Of course, that could change, but that's the way it's been the last two weeks. Ruud had a tough matchup as Washington wasn't on the field a lot last week, but still had 5 solos and an assist.

Maybe someone in the TB area could provide some insight, I just thought you'd want to know the info was out there on Sunday that Quarles was out..

 
But that still doesn't answer the question of if Quarles does play and isn't inactive can you start him with confidence. The other week, he started but ended up leaving the game and Ruud comes in. Both performed well and had decent stats, but if Quarles starts and leaves after the 1st quarter because he starts limping around on his bad ankle.......So for an owner of both I don't feel I can start either one of them unless I know for sure that Quarles is out. My 2 cents. Hopefully some TB homer can chime in here with some insights.

 
So, KFFL knew this..... maybe I should rely on late info elsewhere. I searched this entire site for any news on Quarles.... nada, zilch. Bad job by FBG there. It's not like MLB's grow on trees.... yes, I'm venting. I was not a happy camper on Sunday.

I usually check KFFL hot off the wire - its free information and they cover everything albiet last minute stuff as well as FBG information to try and catch everything.

I thought the issue was, FBG didn't have anything on Quarles.
 
12:54? that is too late for most leagues. It's my mistake though... I should not rely on one site for news like that, but this is the first time I got burnt here that way. I will spend more time at KFFL between 12 and 1 from now on, however. It's almost playoff time, and mistakes like this I simply can't afford to absorb again. I got lucky with Evans and Lewis that made up for the zero I got on Quarles.... I can't expect to be that lucky again.

Really? I thought the standard was kickoff, but then again, I don't play or haven't played in alot of different leagues. I usually have FBG and KFFL "Hot off the Wire"up. Wasn't trying to be a smart alex Rovers, just letting ya know the FBG did have something. Sounds like the ole better late than never didn't apply here.

Yes 12:54 would be too late for me. But anyways to this week - Quarles is the dreaded GTD :wall: per KFFL

What's done is done boys. I think we've done a very good job of updating last minute injury information and lineup changes this season. Our apologies for missing the boat on a couple players last week that needed last minute updating. While I'm not offering it as an excuse, there will continue to be about one Sunday AM a month I'm unable to be active in the Forum due to work issues. Feel free to pick up the slack if you don't see the staff around. Ron White posts the inactives as quickly as he can get to them on gamedays in the Shark Pool and usually provides the appropriate confirming links also.

I may not be available to update the late afternoon game today but the link posted above will get you the answer you need.

I didn't mean it like you guys are not doing a good job, its just that the site he refers to are very good at complete inactives lists.
 
Bump for information on this weekend? Is he going to be another gametime decision or the fact that he played last weekend and played well - is it a fairly sure thing that Quarles will start and Ruud will again see only action on special teams etc. ?

Quarles is listed as questionable AGAIN this week. What is the deal w/ him? Is he getting hurt each week and then getting better throughout the week? Or is it the same injury and he is just listed as questionable?

 
Same injury. Quarles has been questionable for three weeks while practicing all week long. He should be good to go this weekend unless his practice status changes.

 
You would think Gruden would look to the future at some point and get some of these future starters more minutes. :football:

Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Shelton Quarles (knee) practiced Friday, Dec. 15, and should play Week 15. Quarles is listed as questionable.

Seems to me I've read this for a few weeks and yes he played. I think I would still wait for the inactive list to come out or further news before trusting this report
