The NFL will make more $$ from a Pittsburgh SB win than a Colt SB win.So why does everyone say that the refs and the NFL did everything they could to help the Colts win?Consider:1) Pitt is perenially top 5 in NFL sales, usually top 3. Colts don't break top 10.2) Pitt fanbase is national. Colts regional.3) While Colts have marketable Manning, Ben R would be bonanza.4) Cowher is more marketable than Dungy, even considering his tragedy.5) Pitt hasn't won a SB in 30 years. So, can someone educate me as to why the NFL would want the Colts to win??

2) Pitt fanbase is national. Colts regional.

Valid points. I would've totally gone the other way. But, this is hard to refute. I do wonder, though, what the tv ratings do with Indy and Pitt. My hunch was higher for Indy, and I think that would command greater in-game advertising. And, I think an Indy SB appearance (and win) would boost the NFL merchandise sales through the roof. Just speculating. But, it won't hurt the NFL to have Pitt go, no doubt.

These conspiracy theories have to stop. The NFL is a multi-billion dollar goldmine. Why would they risk everything -- the entire credibility of the industry -- to get a few percentage points more profit? It makes no sense.

I can't tell you why but that call was huge BS.Of course that Bears fumble that was overturned was BS too & I'm a Bears fan.

Peyton Manning
More people hate Manning than like him. Meanwhile, Ben R is like baseball and apple pie.
Its not about the People.. its about the TV exs. and ratings . I Personally think the NFL/TV wanted/wished the Colts to go the Super Bowl. But Pittsburgh is a solid choice for the reasons given.

ANd Denver will once again be the slighted on by the National Media..IMO
