Your team had a great year with a rookie QB and a rookie head coach. Rex Ryan interviewed for the HC job last year and lost out to Harbaugh. Clearly, the defense was the biggest reason the Ravens made the playoffs and reached the AFC title game.

I totally respect everything John Harbaugh did this year. He proved he deserved A job. But do Ravens fans believe they would have been better off making Ryan HC now that he's moved on? I'm sure they'll also lose other assistants as Ryan has said before he will take OLB coach Mike Pettine to be his DC whenever he got a head coaching job.

Thoughts

The skills that make a great coordinator don't always translate into success as a head coach. I'm as big a fan of Rex as anybody but there's no way to know yet what kind of HC he'll be. I'll be pulling for him in his new job.

Heck, for that matter, the Ravens could flop badly next year; nothing's a given in the NFL.

Yeah, that's a crazy tough question for a fan who's team went to the playoffs with a 1 year HC and now has a coach with HC experience over a coordinator who is about to learn on the job. No matter who it is.

Heck, after year 1, you'd be hard pressed to find a Jets fan who would take any Coordinator alive over 'Mangenius".... Regardless of the fact that Mangenius was a ball boy a few years ago and had little experience.. The team was in the playoffs and Mangenius was on the Sopranos... All was good.
