What kind of pre-season content can we expect for coverage of pre-season games?

I've got an idea for a project, but don't want to duplicate something that the 500 lb gorilla of the industry is going to roll out.

Ill certainly be adjusting some rankings in the rookie 100 based on preseason performance, especially in the bottom half of the 100 - they will be very important in the movement of those long shot offensive skill players who are fighting for a roster spot. So, expect them to be addressed in the updates to the 100.

One of many reasons why I'm addicted to this place. ;)

BassNBrew,

I'll be publishing the FBG Training Camp update each week during the pre-season. Typically, I try to include as much detail from the pre-season games as possible including coach's comments, key statistics, big plays and so on.

That being said, if you have a good idea that is something we could incorporate into what we do, then I think we're always open to new ideas and ways to improve our product. So, let's hear it. If you'd rather PM me with your suggestions or ideas, certainly don't hold back.

Maybe it's something I could utilize in the camp reports.

I think the only thing we usually do is game recap the last week.
I don't believe we've done much of this in the past. I did a game recap on a preseason game once, but it wasn't exactly useful. When the third quarter rolled around it was sort of silly trying to convince myself that anyone on the field would have a prayer of a chance to contribute in an actual game.

Hi Bob...I sent you a PM with my idea. I've discussed this with Marc Levin in the past. Basically I think we're letting a great opportunity go by to improve projections based on the pre-season. Take Carolina for example. Their pre-season games are excellent tells about what's going to occur. This may not apply to all teams, but Carolina tries to win pre-season games and uses them as a dress rehersal. Last year I noticed Steve Smith getting targetted early and often and the WR screen being a big component of the game plan. Furthermore, I noticed that he was as fast as before and was no longer seeking contact on the field (he plummetted down my rankings two years ago when I watched him hurdle defenders on pre-season punt returns and never step out of bounds to avoid a hit, rather turn into contact). Colbert's perfromance was a no brainer after watching him suck and other WRs get the targets. Another example would be Lamont Jordan from last year. A gazillion pre-season recpts told me he'd be a monster in a ppr league. That one was obvious, but guys like Bryant and Orton left some clues that they might exceed expectations.

Don't underestimate Senecca.

Was really hoping to see Gibran.
