Question for those who have watched the Steeler games (1 Viewer)

I’m looking for Steeler fans or someone who has watched their 3 games. Obviously with a new coach and a new offensive scheme it is hard to figure out what all is going on yet. I do not like having 3 players on the same team but the way my draft feel I got Willie Parker, Big Ben and Santonio Holmes. Hopefully you can tell me what is going on. It seems like Willie Parker is running at will but not finding the end zone. Is he getting the goal line carries or what? It seems like a lot of the touchdowns being scored in close are off the pass. Hines Ward had a 5 yarder but it seems like the tight end is getting the work down there at they have a 5, 1 and 9 yard TD to their credit. Is Parker getting the first crack and just not getting the job done or are they ignoring him down there? He seems to be running great but without the TD’s so far should I try to move him or hold on and be patient?

You will have as solid a team as any. These guys are gonna put up POINTS

I watched the 1st 2 games but missed the SF game. It seems like the Steelers are playing offense alot like the Pats of past years...spreading the ball around to many different receivers and using the TE alot inside the 5. Defenses will adapt and then the Steelers O will have to mix it up some inside the 5. Its been working early this season but it won't be a season-long trend. PS: sell high now on a trade...the Steelers are almost done with the pansie schedule then the losses will start coming.

Not a steelers homer but I watched the game. 3 Things I learned about FWP:

1) If the Steelers are up 17 points they take out FWP so he won't get injured. Davenport is the backup. (late touch down by him)

2) Fast Willie is running very well and is finding the holes. He will break a few soon.

3) The steelers have not been within the 3 yard line when 1st or 2nd and goal. It seems it has been 10 or 9 to goal. They like to use the recievers near the endzone.

Disagree - the only team better than them on their schedule the rest of the year is New England. Pitt wins that division - book it.

:lmao: Ben is not putting up great stats. Not bad at all, but 160 yards in 2 games (I think 240 in the other).

It seems to me they are relying 1st on their defense (I think they have only allowed about 26 points), then on the run (FWP is getting good yardage, just not TDs), and then on the passing game (which does not seem too explosive). They are not making mistakes, but they are not converting many of their offensive TDs either. Reed is getting plenty of field goals.

Saw all three games and it has mostly to do with a less than steller red zone offense and the increased use of TE in the Bruce Arians offensive gameplan. In the San Fran game there was only one "conventional" TD scored by Pittsburgh in the game and that was a throw to the TE. In the Buffalo game the Steelers scored two TDs, a TE got one and Willie the other. As one of the posters pointed out it seems as thought the Steelers are scoring or stalling before they get inside the 10 and Willie just hasn't had many oppurtunities yet, but don't give up on him yet.

I've seen parts of each Steelers game, and I'd be interested to see how many passing attempts he has had, as I have to think that his completion % in on the high side. I just don't think that the Steelers have needed their passing game all that much in the first 3 games - heck Charlie Batch actually finished the first two IIRC as the games were on the blowout side of things. But anyway, yeah, his stats have certainly not been great, and that is what counts.... but from the little I've seen, I still think the upside is high with him (and the Steelers offense in general).

Steelers :hot: here. Very happy with their 3-0 start.

Defense and FWP look excellent to me, and the tight ends have been seriously involved. :blackdot:

But I don't think the passing game has looked very crisp overall. The pass protection has been inconsistent at best, and it just looks like the outside passing game is out of sync. Granted they haven't needed to pass much so far, but they need to get this fixed if they hope to hang with the Pats and the Colts later.

I guess what I am saying is I am extremely happy with the way FWP is running the ball and an very happy with the quotes out of the HC about how they are going to run him all day long and so I know he will get carries. I guess what I am asking of those who have seen the games is in your opinion are the touchdowns coming? It is frustrating to see guys like Joseph Addai have far inferior running stats then FWP but like yesterday get the opportunity and convert for two TD's were he ultimately outperforms and outscores FWP. If you think they will come I will keep him, if this is just the way it is going to be and he is going to struggle to get double-digit touchdowns I have got to make a move involving him.
