Question on Scoring Limits (1 Viewer)

Does anyone play in a league with scoring limits imposed on positions ie QB's can only score xx points per week anything over that is thrown out?

I've never heard of that and have to wonder what benefit it has.
Exactly what I am thinking but one league I'm in has it and they are tweaking it again this year. Since it is a money league I am agitated over this because I would hate to have a season screwed up because of an artificial limit. I realize it could help me also but prefer to look at the side that I would lose out. I can accept losing if I am beat by a team on the field but this smacks too much of Olympic Figure Skating to me.

What logic are the advocates using? Unless the limit is something like 600 yards and 10 TDs, I could quit a league over garbage like that.

Limiting all positions by points and starts Offense and IDP. The league uses a complicated system and rewards big plays. If you don't score 400 points you're losing. I call it the LT rule from his big season 2 years ago. All of a sudden limits were put in. Tried reasoning with the powers that be and had a compromise for a portion of the points over the cap counting and I was happy then the caps were lowered. And you're right I've moved on
