Oakland won with 98 yards total offense.
Anybody know when this happened last? Has a team ever won before with <100 yards total offense?
1st time in Raiders history this has happened.I can't wait to see next weeks post(s) on how the Raiders pass D isn't really that good. This time the angle will be the yards they allowed this week. Forget the 4 interceptions, 2 for touchdowns.
Remember as well 155 yards of the Steelers came in the last 3 drives on prevent D and 47 of those yards where on 1 hail mary play to end the game.
I'm not even begining to say the Raiders are great, but as I pointed out with the seasons stats two weeks ago, (in what is becoing the weekly "why do the sorry Raiders pass defense stats look so good, it must be due to everyone running through them" post. As long as the Raiders offense isn't putting the defense on a 50 yard field all day, the Defense is better then average against the run (only 4 rushing TD's allowed this season) and top 5 against the pass. Of course if the run D was as horrible as everyone blindly thinks by the stats, the Steelers vaunted O-line and running game would have gained more the 89 yards today. Once again, the offense tried to lose the game by putting the D on the field for 35+ minutes (this is a big probelm, as the Raiders have the worst TOP in the league). This time though, the field wasn't 50 yards or less for the opponent all day and the "only look good in stats" Raiders pass D scored 2 TD's and gained 125 yards off INT's. It didn't hurt to only have 5 penalties for 45 yards to the Steelers 6 for 70 yards.
Deal with it Steeler fans, you had a great year last year and a well deserved championship
you should have never won. Your team just got beat in a very physical game pretty much by the Raiders defense alone. No excuses.
