Question: Why is R. Moss not de-activated each week? (1 Viewer)

It's kind of funny to me how the majority of the "fantasy football" world realizes that you can't insert R. Moss in your starting line-up because he has called it quits. Yet, his ACTUAL team still plays him as if they are oblivious to this fact. The question is why?

Easy (and probably correct) answer is Al Davis. But, seriously - why would the Raiders continue to activate and START a player that is obviously and blatantly not trying. What message does that send to the team?

It seems so obvious that he should no longer be on the field. #1 you send a message that this type of behavior is not tolerated. #2 He is simply a liability at this point.

Am I missing something (and not the fact that there are other R. Moss posts...)?

Because they traded away their other WR's.

The suspended their other starting WR (before recently activating him)

Unless the want to line up Jano at WR, he is pretty much their best option despite his effort.

Per nfl.com, here's the players listed as WR (who have catches this year) on their roster:A. WhittedR. CurryJ. PorterHere are some more players listed at WR w/o any catches:J. MorantW. BuchanonL. BookmanC. FrancisIt seems you could field a WR core with this group. Or, if you are 1 short you could always pick up a FA. The bigger picture is that you need to make a statement that as an organization this type of behavior is simply not condoned. Simple as that.

NFL-wise, I'm a Steeler fan. Loocally, I'm a Raider fan, and I want to be traided as well. I can't blame a player - especially one that is playoff calliber such as Moss, Porter, or a few others - for wanting to jump ship. Sure its selfish, but why fight for someone who won't fight for you. I understand each side of this. Coaching staff wants to establish their regime & players want to be paid and to be competitive. The one thing holding this team back is the only component that matters... the scout, GM and owner rolled into one - AL DAVIS.

so if you're a team looking for a stud WR, would you risk signing a guy who admits he'll quit on you if the season doesn't go as planned?
